Jonouchi was walking down a street after going to a card shop to improve his deck. Since , he was going pro he needed to get himself ready for any challenge.
After the pharaoh returned and left and Anzu left for America. Yugi and Honda are still around planning their own future.
Jonouchi; Man , things have changed and things are not the same as they used to be. It's kind of sad because those moments feel so far away.
Down the street a little boy was being picked on by 4 teenagers.
Boy : Come on ,my parents give me that money for lunch. Please let me go. The bully pushed him up against the wall. Bully#1 : You know this is , Azur Oni territory. Everybody pays us protection money. Including runts like you. Bully#2 : People need to know who runs the streets here. Bully#3: We will take over the surrounding communities. Bully #4: then Domino city, everyone will know our names.
Boy: I will not give you my money, no matter what you do to me! I will not give away the hard earned money my parents trusted to me!
Bully #1 smiled maliciously and raised his fist.
Bully#1 : then we will beat out of you by force!
The Bully thrusted his fist forward to hit the kid in the face. The kid braced for it closing his eyes. But to his surprised nothing happened .
The kid opened his eyes, to see a blonde haired man grabbed the fist of the bully. Throwing him to the ground and dropping the kid.
The other 3 bullies went to their comrade. Helping him up
Bully#3: Kazuya! You bastard! Do you know who you are messing with!
Jonouchi glared at the bullies making them jolt. His eyes were like a tiger's something you do not want to mess with. Because it will tear you to pieces.
Kazuya: let's go
The other bullies looked in shock. Like, they could not believe that their leader would make that statement.
Bully#4 : boss , What ! He is just one guy! Bully# 3: We can take him. He is nothing Bully # 2: He is no match for us, we got this.
Kazuya shook his head and walked away from Jonouchi's direction. With his crew following him. Kazuya looks back warning his crew
Kazuya: Look at that guys eyes, there is something about his aura makes me uneasy. It's like this guy fought through hell and its ready to go again for a second round. Messing with him is a big mistake. Let's go.
The bullies walk off and the kid ran up to Jonouchi .
Boy: Thank you, mister. You are so strong!
Jonouchi smiled and give him a thumbs up.
Jonouchi: it's no big deal, no matter the era there will always be jerks. So, I did what could to drove them away. They should be messing with kids like this. They will not mess with you no more.
Boy: My name is Yuji, sorry I have to go now. I do not want my mom to worry about me. Thanks, Jonouchi.
The kid ran off and wave goodbye to Jonouchi
Jonouchi was walking off when he remember something about the area he was in.
Jonouchi:This is were battle city first started.
He had some bad and good memories about that tournament. However, the one thing that stuck with him was saving Mai from Marik. Which he failed but Yugi saved her.
Jonouchi:Then she came back and tried to defeat me and completely changed. She was adamant about winning and was cruel. I sacrificed myself to save her.
However, I never saw her again. I wonder how she is doing. I really miss her even after all this time.

Jonouchi sits down on a bench thinks to himself sadly.
Jonouchi: I wonder why she did not talk to me. After all we had been through. I forgive her, but I have a pit in my heart. I hope we meet together one day.
Jonouchi closes his eyes and tries to remember her face.

Meanwhile, In apartment in somewhere in Japan. Mai Kujaku rests on her bed thinking to herself about what to say to Jonouchi when she meets him again.
