______________
Em's POV
______________I fought the girls for another a hour or two to really see the extents of their growth and I could confidently say that I was extremely impressed with them. their strategy, coordination, resilience and overall ability were far beyond what I had hoped for them to achieve
there was no doubt that, if the Sirens were to launch a full offensive against humanity, the PR's would be the bulwarks of the alliance and civilization. at their pace, they would catch up to the other Early Prototype Ships and Vessels of the Peacekeeper generation in no time
still though, they had a long way to go and as far as I could tell, the Sirens had grown weaker but smarter with the passage of time. their sharp tongues and cunning will prove to be annoying and problematic in the future but their armor is paper thin, their speed is slower than the winds and their weapons are as harmful as children's toys, they were no threat in a fight but they were bound to prove themselves as a problem in a war
those thoughts of mine have been filling my head ever since my return but once again, I push them to the side as I turn to look at the girls, who are catching their breaths as they sheathe their weapons
they were quite confident in their chances of beating them and held almost nothing back in their attacks and combinations but despite their best efforts, I was simply faster and more experienced and saw through their moves and countered appropriately
I could only smile in anticipation as to how much more these girls will grow and how exactly they'll do it but that was a thought for another time as I approached the girls to check up on them and to congratulate them on their impressive amount of improvement
Em:you all were splendid in the fight, each move was calculated and heavy in importance and all of you played a key factor in your strategy to take Me down, it may not have seemed like it but I certainly struggled to keep up at the start of those attacks
Kitakaze:well, the plan was to take you down before you adapted but, we didn't manage to get you cornered
Em:even so, the attempt was the best that had ever been attempted on Me and even though it failed, I know that your execution of it was flawless. had I been anyone else, I would have certainly lost
Azuma:*sigh* humble as ever
Ibuki:it feels somewhat insulting to get so close only to fail
Em:insulting? a very strange way to see it but a true perspective nonetheless. remember, if you jump off a ledge to reach the other side but come up short, catch yourself and climb up, you do not need to return to where you had jumped, you only need to see what made you fail and remember it for when you jump again
Izumo:easier said than done
Em:haha, nevertheless, you all had done splendidly and have earned yourselves some rest, we should find a quiet place to sit down
Hakuryuu:well there's a lounge room inside the main building, it's where we mostly idle around, the others might be there already
Em:then that shall be where we go, if I'm lucky, Blitz will be there as well, I need to talk to him about something
having the girls lead the way as I was still unfamiliar with the base's layout, they led Me off the docks and towards the large building higher up. this was the main building of the base and off to the side was a building, the girls were calling the, Academy, which was were most of the lectures and verbal lessons of training are being conducted as well as it acting as a secondary command hub
leading through the main building however, I saw just how busy the other girls of the new generation were with all of the work they had, they were all running around with paperwork and documents in hand, others were carrying equipment and various gadgets to other rooms and others were moving supplies around, safe to say, disorganization was still rampant in Azur Lane but it was far tamer than it was back then
