The rain didn't subside as long as Cicily was sad. Down below, Imara was smiling. Cicily found that rather hateful and she went to express her mind. The rain went away and it got very hot outside. As Cicily went to greet Imara, she greeted her graciously. "Are you ready to learn how you control the weather, dear?" Imara said gently. Cicily's face screwed up in confusion, but she nodded and followed the woman hesitantly.
They sat in Imara's office again. Other people of all different scales filed in afterwards. "In the beginning," Imara began, "there were the clasps of color, a seperation of powers and different colored scales. The blue dragons, more proffesionally called Berylamines, were masters of water." The light and dark blue dragons walked to the front of the room, and Cicily realized that this was a rehearsed visual lesson.
"The Berylamines were grouped together because of their common powers. The greyish blue dragons controlled the rain, the deep blue controlled bodies of water, and the bright blue controlled ice. For this reason, they lived on an island in the midst of a great lake." The Berylamines in the front of the room demonstrated their powers. Cicily chuckled as a child threw small orbs of water towards Taisie, who froze and caught them.
"Green dragons, Ecosi, grouped together with brown dragons, Dunists. This is because they both had powers pertaining to earth, the different shades of green wielding the ability to create different plants and the brown controlling different forms of earth." The Berylamines stepped to the side as the second group formed and displayed their powers, some growing fruit on their bodies and others creating soil so that grass can sprout from a helping hand.
"Next is perhaps the largest of the clasps. The Xanthians, which were yellow and could create and empower light; the Ethyronants, who were red and could control heat; and the Cirhhads, who were orange and controlled flames and lava.They were perhaps the most violent of the clasps because of their hot-headedness, no pun intended." The Cirhads rolled their eyes and then all those dragons displayed their powers.
"Lastly, I'll introduce the most powerful of the clasps. This clasp consists of Albinians, the white-scaled dragons who were considered peacekeepers because they could control all elemental powers; and Melanants, the black-scaled dragons who were considered the police force because of their strength and mind-control powers. The Melanants were forbidden from ruling ,and were only to do as told to them by the Albinians because of the fact that they could use mind control against every dragon except an Albinian." Imara herself stood up and joined the only other black-scaled dragon to display her powers. Another dragoness pushed over an obviously heavy boulder on a cart and Imara lifted it easily. The other dragon told the dragoness that had pushed over the boulder to lay on the ground and flail her arm, and the dragoness did so without protest. Imara stated, "Enough," and the girl was freed before Imara could set down the boulder.
"So, Cicily, the world worked this way. Any time a clasp needed help from another, they would oblige. If there was any fuss or fight, the Albinians sent the Melanants to solve the feud. The clasp of blue was referred to as the Aqua Clasp; the green and brown was the Nature Clasp; the red, orange, and yellow was the Lava Clasp; and the white and black was the Royal Clasp. All worked together in harmony until the war, which is in the next lesson." All the performers bowed and exited, while Cicily scrambled down the remainder of the lesson on a piece of parchment.
