Mate, just come along - TF2 Oneshot

Walking through the alley, Sniper listened to the sound of heavy rain drumming against his umbrella.

A grunt came out as he kicked stones out of the way of his shoes and kept his head low.

His eyes trailed over to every object around him, observing every detail he could - the engravements in the walls; highlights on the dampened floor; the sound of his footsteps thumping against the ground.

Oddly enough, it felt comforting.

'Jeez-' a voice muttered out, 'das cold.'

The Australian rolled his eyes and smirked, immediately knowing who it was.

'Scout?...' he uttered as he shuffled towards him.

Causing the Bostonian to shudder slightly, Sniper placed his hand on Scout's shoulder, 'What are ya doing out here in the cold? Especially when it's raining?'

'Err- ah! What're you doing 'ere?'

Sniper inhaled deeply, 'M trying to get to the base, Roo.'

'Psscht, Roo? Seriously?' Scout mocked, wiping Sniper's hand off him.

'Don't needa be tough around me, Jer.'

'Alriiight, but don't touch me, I'm soaked.'

'Figured,' the man said while brushing Scout's hair.

'HEY! Did'ya not hear what I said?' Scout snapped, quickly turning his head to face Sniper.

'Mate, 'ow about we head back to the base together?' Sniper asked, motioning his umbrella towards the younger man.

'Nuh! I don't need to! Plus, I'm jus' taking a breath outside!'

'Didn't seem like it, you were standing outside shaking,' he replied, clearly in doubt.

'C'mon, it's not like I'm paying ya or anything,' Sniper continued.

'Ye, but-'

'Mate, just come along, 'ts not gonna hurt anyways.'

A grumbled response came out, 'What was that, Roo?'

'Nothing.'

A grin formed on Sniper's face as he lifted his hand, indicating Scout to hold it.

'Wait a minute-'

'Jus' do it,' he sighed.

Hesitantly, he grabbed onto Sniper's hand and they started walking in the direction of the base.

After a while, he got comfortable and laid his head against the man's shoulder, to which he smiled at.
