hello! This chapter is a letter that I had written in school for WW2.
The task was to write a letter to the children's parents to persuade them to allow their children to evacuate to the countryside.
This, of course, will not be glorifying the war, but maybe shine some light on evacuation that took place in Britain during the Blitz and other air raid attacks and such.

To Parents considering the evacuation of children,
We are writing to inform you that all evacuation of children would be safer for families. However, some may think it is better for families to stay together and it is easy to understand this feeling. Our big cities have indeed been determined attacks from the air. So we must ensure our enemy does not meet the objective: the destruction of life, which is crucial.
It has been dangerous for vulnerable children living in these cities with these devastating conditions. Many attacks take place, for example, bombings and toxic gas leaks. These children in question, should not have to stay in these cramped, cold air raid shelters. Situations like this can cause alarming amounts of anxiety and stress in the system. Do you really want your child to have this childhood?
Schools have closed nearby, giving these children limited opportunities for education and there are many possibilities of being seriously injured. It is truly a dangerous area due to rationed food and rubble.
if you were to evacuate your children, they would be much safer in the countryside. They will be well looked after by their host family - who are surely excited for a new member. They will not have a high risk of experiencing stress in the countryside as they will instead join in the sights of the new atmosphere which is beneficial for them. Local schools will give them a high education for the children and they now have the chance to breathe clean and fresh air. Another benefit is that they will gain more protein from farms and see a variety of wildlife.
Although this is an extremely difficult situation to make, as proven by mothers reluctant to evacuate children, please ensure that your child will be safe and treated nicely by host families.
We hope this will strengthen your decision.
Yours Sincerely,
Secretary of War
