Chapter 11: The End

Liam's POV

"It's been 7 years. Restless searching everyday. I still haven't given up on her. I don't think I ever will. It's been so long since I've seen her. Or heard her voice. Or smelt her perfume.

God it's been so long. I just miss her. I've gotten several leads that have lead me to of course nothing. The only helpful hint I'd gotten was Rebecca's journal.

I found it when I went back to Carmen's house 6 years ago to tell her the news. She broke down crying which caused me to have a panic attack which then led me to having a seizure.

I was sent to the hospital and when I got out I went right back to Carmen's house. She led me out back to the guest house and I'll never forget that day.

When I walked in it smelt just like her. It caused me to collapse on the floor right in front of her bed. I fell to the ground and saw a small brown leather book with a lock on it.

I reached underneath the bed and pulled it out. Reaching into my pocket, I found her necklace with a small key on it. I always wondered what the key went to and I put it in the lock and slowly turned it.

Her journal opened and I found out so many things that I didn't know about her. I didn't know she was beaten. I knew she was depressed but I didn't know she was that depressed. I found the lyrics to her favorite song.

She had the lyrics written down and explained how every single line relates to her.

Your little brother never tells you but he loves you so
When she was younger, her little brother would always pretend like he didn't love her, but she knew he did. Then he died in a car crash.

You said your mother only smiled on her TV show
Her mother was never happy. She was put on medication. She found out a few years ago that her mom killed herself.

You're only happy when your sorry head is filled with dope
When she was younger, the only happiness she could find was when she was high.

I hope you make it to the day you're 28 years old
She never knew if she was gonna make it to the next day, let alone 28 years old.

You're dripping like a saturated sunrise
Carmen always told her that her smile outshines any sunrise, and when she cried, she was ruining the beautiful painting.

You're spilling like an overflowing sink
She'd turn on the sink to drown out the sound of her making herself throw up. Sometimes the sink would overflow and her mom would throw her on the ground until she cleaned it up.

You're ripped at every edge but you're a masterpiece
Carmen would always try to remind her just how perfect she was. Even with her cuts. She's still a masterpiece.

And now I'm tearing through the pages and the ink
She'd rip up the notes Cooper would send her. Everyday. He'd tell her how he still wanted to be with her. But when she'd take him back, he'd just beat her again.

Everything is blue
She's so sad.

His pills, his hands, his jeans
Cooper made her upset. He was the blue.

And now I'm covered in the colors
He forced Rebecca to be happy. Covered in the colors of the rainbow. If she wasn't, he'd beat her.

Pulled apart at the seams
Her scars are the ripped seams.

And it's blue
She's so sad.
