In honor of pride month .

1: there is a transgender pride
2: transgenders suffer from some of the highest rates of physical assaults and murders in the entire LGBT community
3: only 2 U.S presidents have formally acknowledged pride month
4: there are black prides in many cities which specifically serves queer people of color
5: the original pride flag consisted of 8 colors which were usually used for anti-war demonstrations. But it was cheaper to leave it at 6 colors.
* HOT PINK for sex
* RED for life
*ORANGE for healing
* YELLOW for sun
*GREEN for nature
* TURQUOIS for the arts
*INDIGO for harmony
* VIVIOLET for spirit
6: the number of gays and lesbians in the U.S is estimated to be 8.8 million
7: gay people tend to be left-handed much more often than heterosexuals.
8: there are 30 states which still don't have laws protecting gay children from bullying
9: 40% of homeless youth are lgbt
Whether your gay, straight, trans, or whatever you are, we are all still humans, and being gay doesn't change that so be proud of who you are and don't let society say otherwise! And I may not be gay, but I am a HUGE supporter and believe that they deserve all the same rights as everyone else .
