From Detroit to Canada: A Luthara One-Shot Wedding

I know I am super late, but I was working on another project that also takes place in Detroit: Become Human. Speaking of which, May 25, 2023, is the fifth anniversary. Yay! So, for you Luthara fans out there, I decided to write a wedding for them. Even though I mainly ship Connor and Kara, I also respect Luther and Kara. They make sense, don't you think? I hope I was able to capture the possible love and passion they have in this story.

Four years since the events that took place in Detroit, so much has changed. More androids were awakening and becoming more human. They were slowly getting traction to having more rights and protection, but there was still some backlash from the humans and anti-android groups. Just because the androids won the fight didn't mean that their path to freedom would be fast and easy. They still had a lot of obstacles to get through before they could make any real progress. But even though Detroit seems to be slowly progressing for android rights, those that escaped to Canada decided to stay, feeling safer there than in Detroit. Even if it meant hiding among the humans, pretending to be one of them, they felt freer in Canada than in Detroit. They had more rights in Canada while many had to wait for some rights back in Detroit.

Among the androids enjoying life in Canada are Kara, Luther, and their daughter Alice. They had gone through so much struggle and so much loss just to get to their new home. They almost risked their lives just to be where they are now. Just to be safe and give Alice the life she deserves. And even though Alice was revealed to be an android, a YK500 model, instead of an actual human, Kara and Luther still loved her. They were finally a family. But what really made them a family was when Luther and Kara became closer, from friends to eventual lovers.

It was a shock, especially for Kara because her main priority always has been and always will be Alice. She never took her eyes off her little girl. She always made sure she was safe and happy. She did whatever she could to give Alice the life she deserved, far from what Todd could ever give her. However, after seeing how much Luther cared for Alice and her, how he was willing to sacrifice himself to keep them safe, and how he could provide for them had she questioned her feelings for the TR400. She reflected on all of the things he did for them and was still so conflicted. She was afraid that if she allowed herself to love another that she would give less attention to Alice. But whenever she saw Luther and Alice playing in the yard, him singing a lullaby before she went to sleep, or just bonding as a father and his daughter, she couldn't help but smile at these moments. And so, she allowed herself to take a leap of faith and allowed him into her memories through their touch link. She allowed him into her mind, her feelings, her truth, everything. She gave herself completely and he did the same.

As for Luther, a few knew that he had harbored some feelings for Kara since their journey from Detroit to Canada. He admired how much this AX400 cared for the little one. How she trusted him after saving them from Zlatko, even though she had no reason to trust him after everything. How determined she was to find a better life away from Detroit and the war. If it wasn't for them, he would still just be another machine that Zlatko would experiment with and exploit. But he just couldn't pay attention to those feelings because they were so focused on getting out of Detroit and protecting Alice. They were all focused on survival and escape from Detroit and prosecution from the government. But when they made it to Canada, their new focus was to try to adapt and blend in with the humans. Luther had gotten a job as a construction worker, and most of the earnings he got, he gave to Kara and Alice, rather it be for new clothes, toys, books for Alice, or anything for his family. Everything he did was for his family. Had it not been for Rose interfering, Luther would have continued to ignore his growing affection towards Kara. He had realized that he was in love with Kara. It wasn't until Kara made the first move that he felt a sense of joy and relief. He was finally able to show her how he felt through their touch link without holding back.
