Credits to Inosuke Hashibira on Pinterest for this masterpiece. Their pfp is just a screenshot of Inosuke. Edit: IDK why the chapter photo isn't showing, but what I meant to put is on the 'not an update' chapter.

THE cold forest wind blew, causing the trees to sway in a calming manner. A young girl sat in a flower field, staring at them as if she was in a trance. Her gray-blue eyes softened as she watched animals run and walk around her as if she wasn't there.
Early this morning, she left her house just to go to the field. She sat there the whole day not daring to move an inch, just letting everything thrive around her. She had been doing this since she was 5, and now at age 11, she could do it without any struggle.
"Keiko, dear! Come get dinner please!" She heard her mother shout from across the field. Her head moved slightly, turning only to see who called her before slowly getting up, careful not to disturb the wildlife. Her formerly neutral expression turned into a huge grin as she trotted into the house happily. She sat down next to her father and watched her mother start to bring over some plates.
"You seem excited." Her mother commented, before looking over to her husband. "Don't just sit there drooling at the food, help me set up the table." He got up and walked over to her, taking the plates from her hands and setting them down.
Ignoring the conversation between her parents, Keiko smiled even wider. "We're having my favorite for dinner, sweet rice balls!" She yelled excitedly. Her mother froze and looked over to the man in the kitchen. "Did you tell her? It was supposed to be a surprise!" A dark, scary aura surrounded her, and her father got hit with a rag.

As everyone got settled in for dinner, a knock was heard from the door. Keiko continued eating, assuming that it was a friend or something that stopped by. Her parents looked at each other with the same worried expression. Her mother gave him a questioning glance and he returned it before a look of realization hit them.
Knock, knock
The sound was heard again, this time it was louder. "Keiko, honey. I need you to listen closely to me, ok?" She whispered.
"Umm... ok?" She responded in a questioning tone. The woman wrapped the scarf that was previously on herself around her daughter's neck and handed her some gloves.
She kissed her daughter's forehead and stepped back as her father walked up. He handed her a simple white haori and a small piece of folded up paper. He kissed her forehead as well and turned towards the door.
"Keiko...We love you dearly and always have. You mean so much to us and we can't imagine a world without you. Please, follow my instructions exactly." The knocking on the door got even louder, causing her to hurry up.
"Go south, down the mountain, past the cliff and through the river. Turn right into the cave and wait 2 nights-" She stopped explaining as a loud bang on the door cut her off. She quickly pushed Keiko out, through the back door. Tears were streaming down her face at this point, worrying the young girl. Her parents quickly shut the door after a small goodbye, just before she heard the front door burst. Covering her ears, a thing she tended to do when she was scared, she dashed down the mountain.

Hey y'all! So, next chapter is just going to be me explaining Keiko's looks and clarifying a few things, so if you have any question let me know! I got a bit confused with the timeline, so it might take a little bit of time for me to re-write the next chapter, but after that, I think I will have a good updating schedule. PLEASE tell me if you see any grammar mistakes *in a nice way*. Thank you for reading, have a wonderful day/night!
Question of the dayWho is your favorite member of the kamaboko squad? My favorite is probably Inosuke just because he's such a fun character and has a great backstory in my opinion! I love all of them though.
