[Y/N] SAT on the shore, putting the shells she found in the ocean into a woven basket. What she wasn't aware of was Ao'nung, Neteyam, Lo'ak, and Rotxo watching her in the sea from a distance.

"She's hot."

"Shut up, Lo'ak," Neteyam warned, giving him a side-eye.

"You said [Y/N] is basically the village's sweetheart. Are you sure she does not have a mate?" Neteyam asked curiously. Rotxo gave him a stare, realizing he could be right.

"Not that she's mentioned," Ao'nung repeated for the millionth time, "Besides, who wouldn't want to have this man?" He hit Rotxo's head, but he hardly even noticed. He twiddled with his fingers nervously.

"If your are not bold enough to pick her up, then I will have to," Lo'ak said in a taunting voice.

"Alright man, you got your lines, right?"

Rotxo nodded his head. He shifted in the water anxiously.

"Gift?"

"Mhm."

"Now go, before someone else takes your woman."

"Go make mama proud!" Lo'ak said, putting his hand on Rotxo's shoulder. He slapped it and swam away in [Y/N]'s direction.

He got out of the water once he reached her, looking back at Neteyam, Ao'nung, and Lo'ak. They gave him a thumbs up, Lo'ak putting his hands around his mouth, about to shout something out when Neteyam pushed his head under the water.

Rotxo shook his head, mumbling, "Here I go."

[Y/N] noticed him once he got onto the shore, a smile plastering on her face.

"Hello Rotxo."

"Hey [Y/N]. Uhm, whatchu doing?"

"I found some pretty shells," she responded. "Tuk has been looking for these since last week. I plan on giving them to her tomorrow as a surprise," she beamed.

"That's nice." That was one of the things he loved about [Y/N]. He absolutely adored the way she smiled, the way she always did kind things for others.

"Hey, I got you something."

[Y/N] looked up, tilting her head. Her smile got wider as she heard those words.

"Really?"

"Mhm. Here," Rotxo gave her a seaweed wrapped gift. His hands shook nervously as he handed them into [Y/N]'s soft hands.

Her eyes brightened. Rotxo was afraid she wouldn't like it. He grimaced, praying to Eywa she wouldn't make him seem like a fool.

She opened up the gift, revealing a pearl necklace. They were all different shades of blue. Something that reminded Rotxo of her ocean blue eyes. She gasped, her eyes lighting up immediately. She jumped up and gave him a hug. Rotxo, shocked by this sudden action, took a while to process what was happening. He hugged her back, though, his face flushed.

"I have not have been able to find these types of pearls in so long! Thank you so much! It is adorable."

Rotxo scratched the top of his head, a smile making it's way onto his face. "Thank god. I was afraid you would not like it."

"Oh, Rotxo. How did you even know I liked these pearls?"

"I remember a while ago you told me that you were looking for them, that they were your favorites. I searched all around the village after that, collecting as many as I could."

She wrapped her arms around him tighter, placing her head on his shoulder. He put his arms on her small waist, breathing in the smell of salt from her hair, cherishing every second of the moment.

"Thank you, Rotxo," she whispered into his chest.

His heart fluttered, sure he had never been so happy in his life.

She finally pulled away from him, and right when he was about to leave, she grabbed his wrist gently. She pulled him towards her and did something Rotxo was not expecting.

"Huh-"

She got on her tippy-toes and gave him a quick peck on his lips. He stood there in shock, almost paralyzed. His eyes were wide and his mouth was partly opened. He put his hand up on his lips.

She laughed at his reaction.

"You are the best, Rotxo."

And with that, she walked away, leaving him standing in the sand. He heard Ao'nung, Neteyam, and Lo'ak cheering as they swam towards him. They gathered around Rotxo, shaking his shoulders and whooping for him. Rotxo turned to look back at [Y/N] who walked away with the necklace in her hand, smiling and reminding herself Rotxo had cared enough to do his for her.
