Twenty years ago, a woman appeared in front of four houses all over the country on four different days. Each girl was born with an ability to control an element of our planet. Fire, air, water, and the Earth itself. She could create it or manipulate it. The woman stayed long enough to leave a package on the doorstep of their homes. When the parents came home from the hospitals with their little girls in their arms, they saw the package. A note would be left, taped to the package. It would say the package was only for the eyes of the girl. The note read:

She will need this in the future. Give her the book on the day she turns ten.

When the parents opened the package, they saw it was a book. When they tried to flick through, it appeared to be empty. Some of the parents tried to throw the book away, but it always returned. They tried to burn it, but the ashes would come back together. Over the years, all the parents forgot that the books existed until the day of their daughters turned ten. When their book would appear on their bed at the exact time they were born. The book had no further instructions for the girls. No note on when and how they should use their powers, leaving them to do whatever they wanted to do with them. However, there would be one warning telling them the one thing they weren't allowed to do with their magic. The one thing they were not allowed to use them for was evil. They were not allowed to use the spells in the book in a way that could cause physical harm to people or to change the world in any way that would mess up this certain order, as life, the way of things, were supposed to be a certain way for the planet and life on it to be calm. Or else there'd be consequences for both them and the world.
