Twenty years later, one of the witches grew up to be a young woman named Rose Montgomery. Currently, Rose is a sophomore at Central Connecticut State University, located in New Britain, Connecticut. She is a history major. She has brown hair and green eyes. But the thing you want to know the most about her is her magic, isn't it? Well, she does have magic as she is the wind witch. She can use her magic to create wind, whether it is very heavy or a light breeze. She can control the speed of the wind.
One afternoon in early December, Rose was at Mill Pond Park, which wasn't far from campus, in the nearby town of Newington. She was wearing a black trench coat that came to her knees, black jeans and black ankle boots that were laced up. Rose was at the park to finish taking some pictures for her photography project. She set her camera and the tripod attached to it at the foot of a bridge in the park. The bridge is a red wooden footbridge, with iron fencing on both sides. From where Rose was standing, there was the pond to her left side. While on her right, was a waterfall. She set the timer and moved to stand at the peak of the bridge. She looked around to make sure no one was nearby before facing the camera. She whispered, “I am the wind witch, give me some wind to hide my face.”
Rose felt a change in the air, almost as though it was charging itself up. A moment later like a small dog charging at her, a breeze came. The force of it was strong enough that her wavy hair was blowing in her face. The wind also caused the leaves that were lying on the bridge to go flying in the same direction. After hearing the sound of her camera taking the picture, Rose whispered, “I am the wind witch, I no longer need to be hidden.”
Like a dog being told to yield, the wind came to a sudden stop. Rose's hair was wind blown with strands still on her face and the leaves fell to the ground. The spell she used did come from that book of hers. When Rose opened the book on her tenth birthday, she thought it was a funny gift. She loved to read stories about witches, so when she saw the book she assumed her parents bought it to amuse her. She stopped considering it as a funny gift when she read one of the spells out loud and wind appeared. She doesn't remember which spell it was, only that wind had appeared in her bedroom out of nowhere. She would play with these spells in her backyard after school, when her parents were at work. She waited until she was old enough to be left home alone to start practicing these spells. She didn’t want to tell them the truth because she was afraid of what they would do to her if they saw what she could do. She was afraid of their reactions. That is why she always made sure no one was around whenever she used her magic. Rose was glad her parents couldn't read what was in the book. It seemed it was written in a way that only she could read it, as the few times they tried to from over her shoulder, they would ask why she hadn't written anything in the journal. They would point out she was just staring at blank pages. They would also wonder why someone would give this to her and how it snuck in with the rest of her presents as they had forgotten about it. Rose didn’t want to be seen as a thing people could see her for entertainment. She didn’t want to be seen as a freakshow. Rose was also afraid of what else people might do if they saw her magic. She has seen a peak of what fear can cause a person to do. The Salem witch trials might have been 300 years ago, but people might still have those same views nowadays: that all witches must be burned or hung.
Rose went to her camera to see how the shot turned out. She was pleased to see how it turned out. With very little color left on the trees in the background and some of the leaves on the bridge flying around behind her, Rose stood out in her dark clothing with her hair flying in her face, covering her features. Rose went to put her camera back on her tripod when she heard someone call her name,
“Hey Rose.”
Rose turned around to see her classmate, Autumn Webb walking towards her on the narrow pathway. The two girls were in the same photography class. They were friendly but didn't hang out outside of the classroom.
Rose said, “Hello Autumn.” Noticing Autumn has a camera bag and a tripod with her, Rose asks, “Are you here to work on your project?”
Autumn nods and says, “Yeah, I'm just waiting for my friend to finish work so she can help me. She's going to be my subject.”
Rose nodded and rolled her right sleeve to look at her watch. It had a silver ring, with a black leather strap. Seeing she had to leave if she wanted to get to work on time. Rose works in a coffee shop in downtown New Britain. A small café called Time for A Cup.
Rose said as she was packing her camera and tripod, “I have to go to work, I'll see you in class.”
Autumn said, “Yeah, see ya.”
As Rose walked past Autumn, Autumn turned to watch her. She thought that wind definity did not come from nowhere.
Turning back around, Autumn pulled out her phone to see if she had any messages from her friend, Irina Foster.  She wasn't able to turn it on, before she heard Irina yell her name. Autumn lifted her head to see Irina walking towards her. She gave Irina a smirk and said,
“So I see you're not late. I thought I would never see the day.”
Irina was notorious for losing track of time when she was studying or working, so she is also late to most things that don't involve work or school.
Irina rolled her blue eyes and said,
“Well, there is a first for everything.”
Autumn just smiled and shook her head. Brown curly hair flying around as she did this.
Irina said, “Anyway, where do you want me to be?”
Autumn looked around, thinking of where to take good pictures of her friend. After a minute, she said, “I saw a fire pit on my way here. How about we go there to take some pictures?”
While planning as well for pictures to take on the side of the pond, Autumn leaned towards Irina and lowered her voice and said,
“I can use my magic to start a fire, so we can get a couple of shots with your hands in front of it. ”

Autumn herself was a witch. She was a fire witch meaning she could start a fire out of nowhere, make it as tall or short as she needed it. As wide or narrow as needed. Irina found out about her powers during their freshman year of college, when Irina accidentally stumbled upon Autumn while she was using her magic. She and Autumn had been roommates. One day, it was very cold in the dorm, so they walked to a fire pit near campus to try and warm up. Irina had walked away to find some snacks. She had been quite close when she heard Autumn say “I am the fire witch, I am cold. My bones need some warmth. Give me fire to warm my bones.” She heard the embers of a previous fire peaking up, almost as though they were listening to their master giving them an order. After a moment, she heard the crackling of a flame. When Irina came back with snacks, she had told Autumn what she heard. Autumn told her what she was. Irina promised to keep Autumn’s secret. They had grown to be close friends. Their friendship blossomed to the point where Irina was comfortable enough to tell Autumn about her own powers. Irina is an earth witch. Which means she can control the rock that makes up our planet. She can control the trees and all types of plants. She can basically control the rest of the elements that make up our world.
The two girls made their way to the fire pit. Like Rose, the two girls made sure that no one was around whenever Autumn used her powers to control fire or Irina used hers, which was rare. The reason they checked was the same reason Rose checked: they were afraid of people’s reactions. They were afraid of being taken away by the government and experimented on, like what happened in movies.

Autumn used the spell to make the fire in the pit for pictures. She was able to control the height of it and the width, so that it wasn’t too tall or too wide. The height of the fire was only a few inches tall, while the width did not exceed beyond the bowl of the small fire pit. Pleased with the small height and width of the fire, Autumn took pictures of Irina standing in front of the pit. Her red coat blended in with the flames. With her hands outwards, so that it looked like she was warming her hands with the flames.
After an hour, Irina and Autumn finally finished taking all the pictures of Irina they needed. Autumn put out the fire, by raising her right hand, palm facing the flame, and said, “I am the fire witch, my bones are now warm. I no longer need these flames. Put them out. Restore this fire pit to how it was, before I touched it.” When they left the park they went their separate ways. Autumn to her job, a plant store, called  Flowery Senses, in downtown New Britain, while Irina went back to her dorm room.
