We jumped from the roof of one of the houses and onto the ground. I heard a huff as a girl and a boy fell, the boy dropping a hotdog covered in mustard. They looked familiar but I didn't dwell on it.
"Sorry!", I yelled with a whisper, briefly turning around but I saw that wasn't such a good idea so I turned back around running...
"Oh, come on, come on, come on!", "Got you now!", the two Grimspawn that were on our heels uttered eagerly, giggling.
My partner, Sandman, was obviously fed up with their shenanigans as he groaned. If I'm being honest, as was I. They have been playing cat and mouse with us for a while now just because of Lunia's (my 3xgreat-grandmother's) hourglass... Which was a big deal, but still...!
We suddenly ran through a small crowd of people as they ran fearfully with screams. It was unbelievable that they were so scared, such little guys can't do much except annoy.
Let's just say the small night creatures don't have much of a mental capacity...
A little chihuahua-looking Grimspawn appeared in front of us, blocking our way, with a short mocking laugh. We stopped in our tracks, while two other creatures followed suit - one: a small demon with multiple eyes and a dress, and two: a small angler fish with armour.
The chihuahua or whatever it was called was staring at us with an 'I've got something up my sleeve smile', while the angler fish was frowning and the demon... Well, she didn't have a mouth or eyebrows so, I couldn't really decipher her expression.
Sandman started Lunia's hourglass up as a sound similar to maracas and a low whistling sound that was rising in pitch was promptly heard.
"He's using the hourglass!", the night chihuahua exclaimed as it looked ready to pounce on us with its head low and a sour expression, after it finished pointing out the obvious, it ran towards us, completely ignoring me.
The sound of the hourglass ceased as Sandman created a sword and I created a battle axe from my hourglass because battle axes are fun.
It flew over Sandman as he tried to land a hit with the sword on it, the other Grimspawn that were previously beside it also did the same.
He yeeted one of them with a kick, that made me giggle to which he responded quietly with, "Be more serious, will you?", "Ahem, right.", I said.
We were back to back now: me and Sandman as we got rid of any of the night creatures that got too close.
He yeeted another one with his hands and it yelled, and the trio of Grimspawn was quickly back to their original spots, groaning, it almost made me feel bad for them but I focused on the Grimspawn that appeared in front of me only to kick them away.
