I was tossed from a rather strange dream around 4 am with a killer headache. Rubbing my temples to try and ease the pain, I groaned as I pulled myself up from my now deflating air mattress.

I stumbled my way to the bathroom where we kept the Advil and quickly washed two pills down with a much needed glass of water. Making my way back into my room, I realized it would be pointless to try and go back to sleep until the pounding in my head stopped. Instead, I picked up my phone, planning to scroll through YouTube or Twitter.

Surprisingly, there was a notification on my lock screen. An anonymous email was sent to me about an hour ago. Furrowing my eyebrows together, I hesitantly opened it.

I really need to get it in my head that curiosity killed the cat. Or in this case, ruined my ability to sleep.

It consisted of only a link, which I hesitated to click on. This is a new laptop so the last thing I need is some weird virus ruining it. But looking closer, I noticed the link had the words Welcome Home in it. So me being me, there is no way I'd be able to sleep without checking it out. I mean, I have to admit, a couple of those muppet guys are actually pretty cute looking. Especially the big blue dog and the blonde girl. I think their names were Barnaby and Julie?

Without giving it much more thought, I clicked on the link. The website was basically your average introduction page. It had information about the show like when it started and finished airing, the people who worked on it, information about the characters, and a ton of artwork from books they had apparently sold. It even showed the whole neighborhood they lived in and all their colorful houses. It was adorable!

I must have spent a good hour just exploring the site, even long after my headache was gone. It all just felt so homey and brought a sense of nostalgia i've never felt before. Even though I don't remember ever watching this, i felt like i've known it my whole life.

Whenever you clicked on one of the houses, it would give you a description of the character that lives there. So when I clicked on home, the living house that belonged to wally, it would just take me to the blue haired muppet's description. This was rather annoying seeing as I wanted to learn more about the house with eyes.

"I must be missing something."  I thought, beginning to spam click around the red house to try and open its own description.

Finally, I happened to click on just the right spot to open up a new link on the walkway right below home's door. I smiled triumphantly as the page showed a black screen, waiting patiently for the rest to load in.

"Oh my God."

My body jolted slightly as my heart dropped to my stomach. I'm not sure what I had just found, but it sure as hell wasn't friendly like the rest of the website.

The image showed the main character, Wally, kneeling in front of one of home's eyes, reaching out a hand towards it as it looked down at him, seemingly crying blood.

I closed out of the tab and slammed the computer shut, my hand flying to cover my mouth. The room seemed 10x darker, a suffocating feeling wrapping around my throat as I reached for my flashlight.

"I guess i should've kept those stars up.."

7 am came way too fast. I didn't end up falling asleep until around 5:30 am, so about an hour and a half ago. I groaned into my pillow, wanting nothing more than to sleep for the next hundred years. Alas, I was an adult now, and with that came my adult duties.

Reluctantly, I rolled off the now completely flat air bed and dragged myself to the bathroom to get ready for the long day ahead.

Once finished, I threw on some clean clothes from my suitcase and head downstairs where my mom sat at the counter. A bowl of cereal sat in front of her, along with two cups of coffee.
