Matt tilled his head, "I can't remember the last time I watch the news"
Tyler snorted at Periwinkle's scandalised face. He knew she had the 'Daily Prophet' and 'The Quibbler' delivered every day; and her response every time was "I need to know what lies they're sprouting about me this time. And the actual news"
All the while, Bonnie took took an extra long slurp, "that explains so much"
"Don't have the time; School, Work, trying to avoid the supernatural on the daily"
Bonnie looked at him, deadpan, "You failed miserably"
"Our top story today, is the untimely death of Field reporter and weekend anchor Andie Star. So far there is only speculation on what happened; whether suicide, or a tragic accident, WPKW News has lost one of its shining stars. We can only hope her family and partner Damon Salvatore will be able to get closer soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with them..."
Muting the TV in his room; Damon focused on removing all the notes, maps, and newspaper cuttings from his wardrobe. Damon sighed tiredly, he should have left months ago when Katherine wasn't in the tomb; he shouldn't have come back at all
Caroline splintered her arm rests, and everyone looked towards her, yet she just glared hotly at Damon, "Our lives would have been so much easier"
Many people nodded, including Elena's
Damon sighed once again, "Just can't stay away, can you?"
"You've been dodging my calls"
"Yeah, well, busy dating a dead fake girlfriend and all"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Turning to face Elena, Damon held a bright and utterly fake smile on his face, "Happy Birthday, Elena. Stefan killed Andie. Cake?" Then turned back to his wardrobe
"He called me, Damon"
His neck turned so fast, Elena thought it was about to snap. "What?"
"Stefan called me last night"
Dropping everything in his hands, Damon demanded "What'd he say?"
"'Happy birthday' and then hung up. I asked Sheriff Forbes if she would trace the call's origin. It came from Tennessee"
"Where he's binge drinking on the country folk."
"I wasn't"
Niklaus nodded, "It's true"
"My mistake," Damon sarcastically nodded. "Stefan just binged on the ones you allowed him to drink"
Stefan kept his mouth shut, instead he glared darkly at his brother. In those months he gained more control than he liked to admit and that was all down to Klaus'... lessons.
"We went through this, Elena. Stefan's gone. I don't mean geographically" He picked up everything he dropped and threw them into the unlit fireplace.
