CHAPTER 15

It was 12:15 am.
Me,Saahil and Dibyansh were doing our usual shit and were on a group WhatsApp call.
It was getting hard for me to not tell Saahil that I was starting to like like him and it wasn't just a bit of dumb attraction.
"Dibya, I can't do it.Can you just...please?"
"Ok,Saahil,Shreya likes you"
"And it wasn't just some period hormones"
Saahil was dumbfounded and I could hear Aunty asking him to go sleep and atlast,Saahil mumbled that he liked me too and went to sleep.
All of us hung up and went off to overthink in the name of sleeping. I and Saahil tried acting normal that day but at the end of the day,we both knew we were fucked.

I asked out Saahil and he said yes but we broke up pretty quickly.
"I saw the twinkle in your eyes missing. I don't want us to laugh together and you to cry alone"
"But you were so happy. The old,happy Saahil was back and I want you to be happy."
"I am happy when you are happy,Shreya. I can't forgive myself if you are unhappy because of me.I love you."
"I love you too.Never forget that. I will always love you,no matter what kind of a relationship we share"
"I always want you in my life"
"I'm sorry"
I hugged him and it felt like home. I felt terrible and I wanted to keep hugging him and never let go. I loved him and will always love him.

It was Keerti's birthday but also,my uncle's engagement. I was still pissed at myself for treating Saahil the way I did and my last conversation with Ayan made me think that I liked him but that afternoon,when Zoya forwarded the pictures of Saahil in a baby pink sweatshirt, I could not help but think that I had made a huge mistake by letting him go.

A few days passed and I had to dance in a function.During the practices,Saahil was always looking at me.Looking at me in a way that made me feel like I was the prettiest girl alive.
His honey brown eyes.The way his curls fell beautifully onto his forehead. I fell in love with the way his voice sounded.
