Heart Racer ~ (Yoonseok/Sope)

Chapter 2

Yoongi could feel his heart racing. He had never raced against Hoseok before. Hell, Yoongi didn't even know Hoseok raced to start with. Hoseok didn't when they were together. It's crazy what can change in nine months.

Sure, Yoongi took Hoseok to races before and taught him lots about different cars and what the best ways of winning were. But Yoongi never thought Hoseok had the confidence or passion to race himself.

Hoseok hadn't seemed to notice Yoongi or recognize his car. "Alright, we're gonna get started here!" Jin spoke into his megaphone. "The timer over there is gonna count down, and then the horn will go off." Everyone hovered their feet over the gas pedals, ready to push down as soon as they heard the horn.

Yoongi was nervous, a sweat appearing on his forehead. All because of Hoseok. Before he knew it, the horn sounded. Yoongi pressed down on the gas pedal as hard as he could.

Everything seemed fine at first, just like any other street race Yoongi had been in. "Maybe this isn't as bad as I thought." Yoongi said to himself. He glanced in his mirror, and that's when he saw an old, black Ford Mustang. And behind the steering wheel was Hoseok. Yoongi smiled a little to himself. An old-school Mustang was Hoseok's dream car.

The racers drifted left and right through the streets of Seoul with their minds all set on the same thing: winning. Yoongi managed to stay towards the front of the group. He was always in the top three.

Hoseok also managed to stay towards the front of the race. For being an older model car, Hoseok's Mustang sure had some kick to it. Yoongi sped past the racer in front of him, putting him in first place. Should I let him go past me?

Yoongi never gave up his placements in racing for anyone or anything. But the only thing on his mind every time he looked at Hoseok through his rear view mirror was Hoseok's smile.

Hoseok's smile was Yoongi's favorite thing about him. He'd give anything to see Hoseok smile. Even if that meant letting Hoseok get first in the race and Yoongi being a runner-up. 

Before Yoongi could decide to let his ex pass him or not, he saw a lime green Corvette come up right next to Hoseok. Mingyu. The car started drifting towards Hoseok's car, getting way too close.

Yoongi looked behind him, and that's when he saw the lime colored Corvette push the Mustang towards the side of the road.
