The fairy

"Tell me where it hurts." I heard a voice say.

I could feel the ground below me; the soil acting like a soft yet cold blanket keeping me secure. However, I knew something was wrong. I opened my eyes and saw a girl, her hair was blue and matched her eyes. There was something different about her. I couldn't figure out what, but soon enough I noticed.

"Hon, you need to tell me where it hurts." She spoke again.

As my eyes came into focus, I could see what looked like wings gliding behind her. They were silver, almost glass-like and seemed to glimmer whenever the light softly hit them.

I must have gotten a pretty bad concussion...

"I- It hurts everywhere." I managed to get out.

My memory felt clouded. I could slightly remember seeing a mirror, and a bright light cascading from it. For some reason there was a pull coming from the reflective surface. It felt as if I was connected to it, a reason I needed to be closer to whatever it would bring.

I remember walking towards it, and being pulled into something. What it was, I don't know. And I woke up here, in a bright forest with fairies?

"I know you must be quite confused," she sat up. "I'll have to explain once you aren't so...broken."

"O-okay." I tried to get up to my feet, but I stumbled and fell back onto the ground.

"Here, drink this," She handed me a cup, from where she got this, I didn't know.

"Are you going to kill me?"

"No, now drink."

I took a sip of it, it tasted like leaf water. Gross.

My body started to gain its energy back. It felt like I had butterflies fluttering through my veins, filling me with adrenaline and healing whatever had happened to me; which I still didn't know what it could be.

For all I know, I could've been hallucinating.

"Feel better?" She questioned.

I sat up. "Yes, actually."

"I'll explain it all, are you sure you're ready?" She questioned me.

"Maybe? How would I know."

"Well, my name is Zella, we can start there." She smiled, standing up. "This is Losinisle, the land of the lonely. Specifically, fairies, or lonely humans. That's most likely why you're here."

Losinisle...

"Am I stuck here?" I asked her.

"Yes." She seemed overly happy for just telling me that I'm trapped here.

I stood up and looked around, I could see lights in the distance, but for now we were just surrounded by trees.

"Oh, these aren't just trees," She smiled, did she just read my mind?

"They are passageways." She tapped on one of the trees, and it opened up, revealing a staircase lit by blue torches. "Now, there are some main rules you need to know."

"Okay..."

"One, you do not have the ability to read minds... yet. So don't try. Two, you only will earn your wings once you've completed your life path. And three, do not, under any circumstances, keep looking so clueless here." She laughed a little, then sighed. "Take a joke, jeez."

"Sorry, this is weird, okay?" I crossed my arms.

"Follow," She started down the staircase.
