The mirror prison
"Stop coming back." I heard her yell from across the abyss.
I looked down at myself, I was floating. My jeans and shirt were transparent, and my vision was blurred. I didn't know what was going on, or so I thought. Really, I did. I knew I kept coming back to this strange universe, this place that made me feel so powerful. Maybe it was bad.
"I said, stop coming back."
I looked up and saw her, the girl I had been seeing in my dreams was standing in front fo me, her face glittery and her eyes clouded. I hated what I had to do. But it was needed. She would have the power to stop everything, help people cross over to this beautiful void. She thought she was right to fight me off, but she was wrong. There's no way to defeat me. I'm dead.
I slowly walked over to her, my feet gliding across the air as if I was flying. She seemed to be in awe. Her eyes followed me as I circled her a couple of times, looking up and down to see if she had any way to inflict pain upon me. However, like I said, I'm dead.
"You- You're floating," She said in shock, as I stopped swirling around her.
"Yes, I am." I smiled.
"How do you keep coming back.." She seemed to be thinking through something in her mind. "The last I saw, I had thrown you off of that bridge into the water..."
"Mhm." I mumbled. She'll get it eventually.
"You're not alive at all, are you?" Her green eyes met mine.
I smirked. "You'll never win."
"But- but in New York you bled, didn't you?" she questioned.
"You thought I bled. You see, not only am I dead, but I also have the power to make illusions.." I snapped my fingers, and a thousand mirrors surrounded her.
She stared in every direction, slowly walking and then flinching as she reached each mirror. She would never get out. But it was just an illusion, she thought that if she ran into a mirror she'd feel it, when in all reality, she would walk right through them. Mind tricks are fun.
"Help-" She called out, only achieving a slight noise.
"Stop resisting. Walk." I ordered.
She didn't listen. And possibly to this day she is stuck there, lost but quite oblivious at how to get out.
It's been years, and the pull from that abyss still takes a number on my soul. I can't let things like that get to me, she is meaningless. Just a complication to my ploy. So let it be, she can figure it out. The fear is so imminent in her; she will never escape. I laugh to myself, as I sit here writing this to you.
I won.
