Chapter three.
Marlena rouse from a heavy slumber and her first instinct, her maternal impulse made her reach out towards the bassinet, eyes still closed as her hand moved around in search of her one month old baby.
Marlena heard nothing and she felt nothing.
Her eyes immediately open to find the bassinet empty and her husband's spot beside her cold.
The absence of her husband explained the absence of her baby, It calmed whatever worries and concerns marlena started to feel.
Marlena peeled her eyes open wider, she waking up from the restless sleep.
Marlena gets off the bed and then she leaves the bedroom.
She approaches the nursery, and cracks open the door.
Her husband is gently rocking back and forth in the glider rocking chair, with the infant swaddled in a yellow baby blanket.
Belle is resting comfortably in john's arms.
John peels his eyes away from his daughter to look up at her mother.
when she wok up, I didn't want her to disturb you so I picked her up and took her right in here, john told his wife.
Marlena walks over to john and says to him.
I don't know what I would do without you.
"I feel the same way, john told his wife.
Marlena's eyes fall towards her baby lying on her back in the middle of john's lap.
Isabella bare legs kick as her arms stretch, they barely rise above her head.
as Isabella's head turns to face the direction of her mom.
Hi baby, I love you, Mommy can just look at you forever, marlena told her daughter.
Later that evening
John smiled at his wife who was sound asleep with their daughter sleeping on her abdomen.
John went to pick Isabella up to give her a cuddle and put her in her crib but marlena's motherly instincts kicked in.
Marlena tightened her grip on Isabella and her eyes snapped open.
"Baby, it's just me and i was going to put Izzy to bed, john told his wife.
Marlena shook her head and reached up to caress her husband's cheek.
"No, leave her, I finally got her to sleep.
John leaned down and kissed on marlena's lips.
Marlena rubbed Isabella's back.
"Go put izzy down and we'll make dinner together, john suggested.
"Her next feeding will be soon, john.
Marlena told him as she slowly sitting up, keeping Isabella in place as not to wake her
"Well I'll cook and you Take her
in to the nursery, so you can feed her.John said to his wife as he helped her up from the couch.
Marlena leaves the living room and headed to the nursery.
Later that night.
John and marlena wake up to Isabella's crying for the third time that night.
The bassinet is beside their bed,
Marlena gently picked up her screaming daughter."It's okay, baby, Mommy's got you now, Marlena whispered to her daughter.
Marlena gets up from the bed and then she leaves the bedroom and headed to the nursery.
