~Amanda Pov~
Finding my locker in a maze of people, lockers, and more people is hard, fitting in will be even harder. I just moved here from Calgary, Alberta and i thought becoming an American citizen was hard, and boy was i wrong. My journey started with 17 straight hours of driving switching from my mom, to my dad, back to my mom and then sometimes my older sister Abigail who was old enough to drive. Our van was regularly big except for long road trips like this. I was asleep for most of it and the only breaks were coffee, bathroom and food. And then we came into America... Worst time of my life... Ok now back to the moment. I'm walking down the crowded hallway avoiding people as much as i could, new school, new people, new layout. I was trying to multi-task but that didn't really work out. I had a school map in one hand and a slip of paper, with my locker number and combination, in the other. My first class was PE so all i had to do was find the gym then half of my work would be done. "2214, 2214, 2214" i kept on muttering to myself as the locker numbers just got lower and lower. "2224, 2222, 2220," i kept mumbling as i looked at the numbers. Looking down at the locker numbers i didn't look where i was going and 'CRASH'! "I am so sorry" i looked up into his ice blue eyes almost getting lost in them. "It's fine" he said walking past me. I picked up the papers i dropped and continued walking towards my locker. "2218, 2216, 2214. Finally" i crouched down and opened it up. I stuffed my bag inside and grabbed my first books and gym bag.
The first bell rang and i sprinted to PE, bumping into about 10 people on the way. I finally got to the gym with time to spare. I changed and ran into the gym. It was a co-ed class meaning both girls and guys, and we had to wear uniforms for PE which sucks even more. I looked around for a teacher but saw none. The gym is small but there is a divider in the centre of it so it must be bigger. "All grade 10's in Mr.Mayer's class to the small gym!" I heard a female voice shout. I saw a group of what i'm guessing were grade 10's like myself run through a door and i followed them. They all lined up and i stood at the end. A female teacher, probably Ms.Mayer, went down the line taking attendance. When she got to me i was kinda nerous. "Your new aren't you?" She asked. She seemed nice and looked rather young to be a teacher but that doesn't matter. "Um yes..." I answered, nervous in spit of myself. "Your name?" "Amanda, Amanda Gold" she looked at the sheet then back at me "Yes i see your name here... You go stand beside Jeremy and that is where you will stand for attendance every class." "Thank you" "Jeremy could you raise your hand for Amanda please" A boy with blondish brown hair stepped out of line and raised his hand. I walked over to him and looked into his ice blue eyes... He was the guy from the hallway. "Nice to see you again" he said stepping back into line. "You too." I said standing beside him. "Ok now today we will be starting our dance unit" groans from the entire class interrupted her "Sounds like we should extend it for another month, ok while it's settled then. Girls find the closed boy to you and boys stay right where you are" i turn to Jeremy and he looks at me. "I guess that's you." I smile slightly "I guess it is" he says back
