Chapter 8

(Amanda Pov)

After school i had nothing to do. It was nearing Halloween and being at this new school meant having the wonder what they did for it. After school, before i left, i saw a poster the said something about a Masquerade Ball on Halloween night. This seemed interesting. I texted with Ava and talked with Amy about this ball and we decided to go together. It was in a little more than a week so we had to go shopping on the weekend. I looked online for a dress that i like and found the perfect one. This was going to possibly be the best night of my life.

When Mandy told me about the ball i literally flipped out!!! I'm the romantic person out of the two of us and this night would be a perfect one to show that off. I looked online until i didn't want to see another dress ever again. Just when i was about to give up i found it. The perfect dress. It was black and silver and just... Just.... Perfect. This night was gonna be awesome. I can't wait!

(Ava Pov)

I had known about this Masquerade Ball for a while but i wasn't planning on going... I mean... It's just not my thing. I'd rather be at hime with a good book or watching Vampire Diaries by myself... But Amy and Amanda are going so i should too... I mean how bad could it be? Ugh really bad... I wish i could say i was sick... I hate dresses and parties... But i wanted to make my friends happy so i am going. I looked through catalogs and magazines then finally online for a dress that would match my personality. I thought i would never find one and then i did. I was perfect... Well for a dress anyway... It suited me so well i thought i would die when i saw it. Maybe this night won't be as bad as i think it's gonna be...

The next weekend Abigail drove me, Amy and Ava to the mall to find our dresses and it took us FOREVER to find them, but it was worth it. Mine is a simple, sky blue dress with no straps and a belt of fake jewels around the centre. It was perfect. I tried it on about a million times to make sure of that, and it was. I was so happy when i found it.

I called shot gun on the way to the mall so Mandy and Ava got the back, hahaha suckers. It took us so long to find our dresses but we all eventually found them. Abby was probably so bored the whole time with us shopping and her following us around like our baby sitter. When we finally found our dresses mine was even better in person. It was mostly black with a bit of silver in it. The skirt was ruffled and shorter in the front then the back. The top had a flower pattern on it with no straps. Honestly i would wear it everyday if i could.

(Ava Pov)

I got the back with Amanda on the way to the mall. I really wish i wasn't here but i would be going with my friends so i guess it wouldn't be that bad..... We went to pretty much every dress store in the mall just to find three dresses for a stupid masquerade ball which took us about 4 hours to find them. First we found Amanda's then Amy's then we finally found mine and as soon as i saw it i knew the wait was worth it. It was purple and had jewels at the top. It also had what looked like a little jacket at the top which were the sleeves. The skirt was slightly ruffled and floor length. In all honestly it might be a bit flashy and unlike me a lot but it kinda spoke for it's self. It shows my crazy side. Maybe the ball won't be so bad after all.

Next stop: masks. It was a masquerade ball so no one knows who we are with a mask so that was our next stop. We went to a halloween costume shop and we each found a mask that matched our dresses. It didn't take us that long to find them but we did eventually all did. They were all pretty plain so we had to add some glitter and jewels so afterwards we went to a craft store and bought some glitter, jewels and some coloured lace for the edges. Abby drove us back to our house so we could bejewel our masks together.

"Those look so nice girls" my mom said being a busy bee. "Thank you Mrs.Gold" Ava said as she added some more lace to hers "Ava how many times have i said you can called me Amelia" "Apparently not enough times" Amy said and we all laughed. We had been working on ours masks for longer then we thought we would so Ava phoned her mom to tell her that my mom could drop her off when we were finished which happened about 3 hours ago. "Are we done yet?" Ava asked. "What you getting bored of us?" I asked "No but i should get home soon or my mon will wonder if you kidnapped me" "Oh... That's a good idea" Amy laughed and we all followed her in laughter. A ring for the front door interrupted us. "I'll get it" i said getting up "Don't let Amy touch this" i said to Ava as i pointed to my mask while i walked towards the front door. I opened up the door and saw Daniel standing on the other side of it. "Hey um is Ava here?" He said looking at me "Yeah do you want me to get her?" "No but can i come in?" "Um sure" I stepped out of the way to let him walk in "She's just in the kitchen" "Thanks" we both made our way back into the room and i sat down "She didn't touch your mask i promise" Ava said before she saw Daniel. "Hey Ava, can we talk?" "Oh um sure" she said getting up and following Daniel back outside. I saw Amy's confused stare so a answered the only question on her mind. "Boyfriend" "Ah" she said "how'd you...?" "Sister intuition" i answered and went back to bejewelling my mask, thinking about what they could be talking about.
