"you can go on a date with me" 

sunoo couldn't believe his ears. is sunghoon for real? he must be messing with him, there's no way sunghoon would even be interested to actually go on a date with him. sunoo looks at him, eyes blank, and he starts to laugh which leaves sunghoon very confused. 

"you're joking right? there's no way you're serious!" sunoo stops laughing when he sees sunghoon's face, it looks like... he's hurt? angry? dejected? whatever it is, sunoo felt bad. he just couldn't wrap his head around the fact that sunghoon was taking the time out of his day to take him out on a date. HIM? OUT OF ALL PEOPLE? he didn't even think sunghoon would be interested in boys, he just thought the athlete was naturally flirty. 

sunoo was about to say something but sunghoon beat him to it, "you don't want to? it's fine but don't laugh in my face" and with that he left. sunoo stared at sunghoon's back as he walks away and in that moment, he thinks that maybe he was too careless in his actions. he hurt sunghoon and he didn't even mean it, his insecurities blew his chances of getting to know sunghoon and now the boy will never talk to him ever again. 

"you're so stupid sunoo! you insensitive freak!" he whispers as he bangs his head on the table. he hits his head countless times on the table before he got an idea, "i should apologize to him! i did him wrong, i should at least say sorry to him before he ignores me forever." and so sunoo grabs his notes and coffee, hurriedly running to catch sunghoon.

sunghoon walks away angrily, obviously hurt from the rejection he received from sunoo. his friends catch up to him, with heeseung pulling his jacket. "dude, are you okay? what happened there?" sunghoon gives him a glare, removing his hand harshly before walking away "it's nothing."

how could sunoo laugh at him? does he take him for a joke? being told no would've hurt less than sunoo clowning him. it hurt even more because sunoo was the first guy he's ever had feelings for and he only laughed in his face when he tried to shoot his shot. it was like an archery arrow shot him straight through the heart. 

sunghoon sits down in the bleachers of the gym, deciding to watch a basketball game to distract himself. he was sitting in peace on his own when someone sits next him. it smelled of vanilla and flowers. he ignores the person and puts his entire focus on the game happening in front of him. then, he feels a tap on his shoulder. 

"can i help you?" he says and before he knew it, he was being engulfed in an embrace which caught him off guard.

sunoo runs and runs, but he still couldn't find sunghoon. he tried asking people if they've seen him but alas he fails. he smacks his head again, feeling stupid and regretful of his actions. thanks to his stupid mouth, the boy of his dreams is out of reach. 

he walks dejectedly, kicking the rocks on the pavement when he hears someone say, "ow!" sunoo looks up and sees heeseung laughing and jake holding his foot. sunoo's eyes widened, out of all people he really injured sunghoon's friend. it was like fate is playing a sick joke on him. he runs to jake and goes on his knees, trying to take a look at the injury "oh gosh, im so sorry! i didn't mean it!"  

"please get up, you don't need to apologize. it seems like you have a lot on your mind, is it about sunghoon?" jake says, and sunoo just nods "yeah. i hurt him, so bad." heeseung chimes in, his face getting close to sunoo, "what did you do? he was so angry" the latter could only hang his head in embarrassment " i laughed in his face when he asked me out on a date" he hears the both of them snickering, "you messed up, really bad. no wonder he's so angry." 

"i know i did! please, tell me where he is so i can apologize to him!" sunoo pleads, jake points his finger at the school gymnasium and he lights up, "thank you so much!" sunoo was happy he bumped into sunghoon's friends, now he can finally do something right. 

once he enters the gymnasium, he sees sunghoon sitting with his face looking angry. sunoo gulps and musters up the courage to approach him. he composes himself and he starts walking, he needs to tell sunghoon how he really feels.

"i'm sorry sunghoon," 

"that i took so long to come back to you." 

"wonyoung?"

sunoo stops in his tracks, his coffee spilling all over his white shoes. maybe he was right after all. sunghoon really was playing with him.
