My alarm woke me up in the middle of the night..that's odd? Oh shit that's not an alarm. I had a different ringtone set just for Billie, i know it must be bad if she calls me in the middle of the night like this. Another reason why I usually sleep at her place. I'm just worried about her. I know she's been struggling with her mental health. and her mood swings- dear lord let me have patience. But I know she's still the same goofy sweet loving person who cares about everybody.
"Bil? You okay?" I croaked. It was silent then I hear her sniffle from the other side.
"...no.." she whispers softly, her voice cracking
"I'll be there soon okay, stay on the phone for me" I shot up from the bed grab all the things I need and head out. I caught my self in the mirror looking ridiculous, I'm in my boxer and big shirt but with helmet and boots on. Fuck it, I have clothes at Billie's anyway.
"You're still there bil?" I said through my airpods as I pull my bike out of the garage. People are asleep, the least I could do is switch on the bike outside of the gate.
I heard another sniffle. My poor Billie.
"I'm here..." I say softly as I climb under the cover, she turns around buried her face in the croak of my neck and put her arms around my waist.
"I'm sorry..." She whispers, barely audible
"Hey now, remember what I said? Anywhere anytime-"
"You'll be here" she finishes the sentence
"Exactly...and Ive never let you down have I" I say softly and kiss the top of her head while rubbing her back soothingly. Her arms around me got tighter for a moment. The things I would do for this girl.
"I had a dream, I got everything I wanted" she whispers softly before pulling away slowly and sitting up. Eyes puffy, nose red, looking down at our intertwined hands.
I waited for Billie to continue but she didn't for a moment as if she was still holding her self back- from crying again.
Billie sighed. "I had everything I could ever want, but I was still depressed. Felt like I was all alone, like no one cared about me. Then I jumped out the window of my hotel room, but no one even noticed."
I let go of her hand and pull her into me instead "I care for you. Please remember. Always have been, always will be" I feel her nodding under me and we stayed like that until she falls asleep.
When I woke up Billie is still asleep. I look at the time realizing I'm running late. I need to be at the gym in 15 minutes for my training. "Shit" I whisper and slowly pull my arm from under Billie but suddenly her other arm around me got tighter "don't go" she says with her eyes closed.
"I'm sorry Bil, I have training with Maxine, I can't reschedule again" I say softly before planting a kiss on top of her head. Her grip on me remains tight, not letting me go. I really can't miss this session again, this scenario is not new to me. Billie wants me to stay, I give in more than not. Then I'll get an earful from my trainer, or punished. But this time Maxine threatened to drop me out of her program if I show up anything other than punctual. What program you might ask? I'm trying to go professional with this whole MMA thing. I haven't told anybody, not even Billie.
"Billie please, Maxine will kill me" I pleaded softly. She releases her grip and turn around facing he back towards me, tucking her self back under the blanket.
"Fine. Leave" she sound annoyed
I sigh softly knowing she's gonna be in one of her mood because of this. I quickly get dress and pack my clothes before pretty much sprinting down the stairs.
