🎶Now you're my everything, I was lonely🎶

The night was lively with the voices of critters concealed in the darkness of the surrounding forest. Though it was a full moon, the light was only enough to illuminate the road ahead.
Its bright light resembled one that held promise of untold adventure and it perfectly mirrored how Ara felt in that moment. Uncertainty started to settle in her chest as she began to think of all the possible consequences she could face if she was caught.
But another thing about the bright redhead was she was also stubborn and would never admit to Griffin she hid even a sliver of doubt.
The car slowly pulled to a stop a few miles away from their destination, where they were perfectly hidden from security. Griffin turned to her with a smug smirk as he imagined her quitting right there and then, but Ara was much too dogged to back down.
"You sure you still wanna do this?" He looked at her trying to find any sign of fear or withdrawal, but she hid her flurry of emotions well enough.
A trick she'd learnt over the years from her mother.
"Positive," she replied with a wide smile. He looked at her for a long moment before he unlocked the car doors.
"Okay but if you get caught..."
"Play dead," she quipped as she got out and slung her Hello Kitty backpack over her shoulder.
"I was gonna say duck and cover," he called as she began walking away and she turned her head back to him, "But, yeah, I guess that works too".
He gave her one of his infamous boyish grins and she chuckled as she turned back and continued walking.
"Thanks for the ride loser. And have a safe trip," she called over her shoulder and, even though she couldn't see him, she knew his smile only grew wider. Eventually she heard the car start again, make a U-turn and leave. She turned around just in time to see the black Audi disappear into the night.
The castle was ordinarily a beautiful sight during the day but at night, when all the lights were on, it was mesmerizing. Like something straight out of the Disney logo, especially on a night like this. The decorations shined brightly, even from afar, giving off a magical and festive impression. Which it was.
The prince was getting married after all.
She began her trek to the shining building, trying to hide in the shadows. After successfully doing that, she managed to slip in among the staff hired for the event, who just so happened to be wearing all black, like her.
It was her lucky day. Or night, depending on where you were.
She easily moved away from the staff whom she had begun to converse with, excusing herself to the restroom.
She scoffed to herself as she turned a corner into a luxurious hallway. Like she'd ever use a bathroom outside home. Since she was little, she'd refused to use any bathroom other than her own after an, incident at school. She didn't care whether it was the janitor or the king himself who used it.
She shuddered at the memory and shook it away just as something else caught her eye.
In the middle of the hallway held a great portrait of the royal family. The king sat, probably close to ten years younger, in the middle of the photo on a large throne. He wore a tailored black suit, with his gold crown sitting on his head and a blank expression on his face but even through the picture his stance exuded power. His brown hair held no hidden strands of grey as it did now, and his blue eyes held an ice that sent chills down Ara's spine.
She turned to the queen, who sat in an almost identical throne, but it was slightly smaller due to her petite frame. She wore a long black sequined gown with complemented her raven black hair. Her kind aura was perceivable from her slightly relaxed posture and the warm smile on her heart-shaped face. Her hazel eyes were soft, and her crown sat slightly crooked on her head, which brought a small smile to Ara's face.
Then, there were the minions.
Eight-year-old Mel stood next to her mother, smiling wide showing her missing tooth. Her messy black hair was somewhat tame and in pigtails, and she wore a cute white dress along with her tiara. Her big brown eyes still held the familiar glint she knew and loved.
And lastly, but definitely not the least, the twins. They stood next to their father wearing suits as well, but they wore a white inner shirt that matched their sister's dress. At ten, they were much harder to tell apart, with the same hazel eyes, black hair, body structure, and matching crowns; they were like photocopies of the same person. The only thing that differentiated them was the goofy grin one of them had and the blank stare of the other.
She knew immediately which was which and felt her cheeks grow warm as memories flashed before her.
Unfortunately, her trip down memory lane was cut short when she heard someone coming. She quickly ducked behind a knight statue, which every castle seemed to have for some reason, and held her breath.
She closed her eyes in hopes it would help her camouflage as she waited for the footsteps to disappear down the hall.
The seconds dragged on for what felt like forever until she heard the passing group turn around a corner. She waited until their conversation was completely out of earshot until she got out of her hiding spot and let out a sigh of relief.
But her relief wasalmost immediately cut short when she felt a strong hand over her mouth asanother grabbed her from behind. Her mind began to blur and before she couldthink of a course of action, she was out cold.
