(At the School)
Alleigh, Malia and Lydia walk into the school together. "The Dread Doctors by T.R. McCammon." Lydia reads the cover off a book Malia gave her. Alleigh looks at it and gets a weird feeling, and Lydia stops walking. "What?" Malia asks them. Lydia starts walking again, "I don't know. There's something about it. Do you have the same feeling?" Lydia asks looking at Alleigh.
She nods her head in response, "Has anyone actually read it yet?" Alleigh asks, before looking at Malia. "Just me. And I didn't understand any of it." She answers. "We should probably all read it." Lydia says which makes Alleigh chuckle. "Kira's working on it." Malia tells her.
"Stiles says he can't find anything on the author. He thinks it's a pen pal." Malia tells the Martin girls. Lydia flips over the book and starts reading the summary, "In a small New England town, teenagers are taken in the night and buried alive." She looks at Malia and Alleigh. "Days later they emerge transformed, wreaking havoc and spreading terror, commanded by an ancient order of parascientists known only as the Dread Doctors." Lydia finishes reading the back, before looking up.
"Sounds vaguely familiar. How does it end?" Lydia asks Malia. "It doesn't. This is supposed to be volume one." She answers. "Oh let me guess... There is no volume two?" Lydia asks. "Unless we're living volume two." Alleigh says. "Then maybe the real question is... Is this a novel or someone's prediction?" Lydia asks looking at the book.
(Alleigh's free period)
"Sorry, but I'd never even heard of the Kanima until a few days ago. You want me to read this?" Theo asks Alleigh and Scott. "Well, not yet. I'm still only on chapter one." Scott says to him. "You guys do this a lot, huh?" Theo asks, before looking at Alleigh. "Do what?" She asks. "Get involved." Theo answers her. "Yeah, I guess." Scott says.
"What about the author? If he knew all about these guys, shouldn't we be talking to him?" Theo asks. "Oh my god, why didn't we think of that, oh wait, we did." Alleigh says annoyed. Theo looks at her and smirks a little, "What about this guy?" He asks, showing them a page from the book.
"This book is dedicated to Dr.Gabriel Valack." Scott reads the page. "Do you know him?" Theo asks. "Yeah. And I know where to find him." Scott says to him.
(At Eichen House)
"Anyone there?" Lydia asks. "Are y'all going to be okay in there?" Scott asks Stiles and Alleigh, who were sitting on the Jeep. "Yeah. Why?" Stiles asks, and Alleigh nods. "Y'all just seem a little off." Scott says. "I think we're all a little off. Maybe some of us more than others." Stiles says looking at Alleigh, which makes her glare at him.
