"'Hey, everything will be okay,' Luke told me as he cupped my cheeks. 'At 1:30, I'll meet you at the bridge, and then we can run away, okay? Trust me, Kylie, I won't let anything happen to you. That's why I'm doing this alone.' I nod my head, and he kisses my cheek. We grab the black bags and get in the car. Luke rests his hand on my thigh, looks at me, and smiles. 'Nothing will mess this up.'

My stomach starts twisting as we drive. I take deep breaths, and before I know it, Luke is getting out of the car and opening my door for me. He tosses me the keys, kisses my cheek, grabs the black bags, and gets into a black Magnum before driving off. I don't take long to jump into the driver's seat, head over to Luke's house, sneak in, and start packing all of his clothes. I go through his drawers, and I stop when I see a purple bracelet with elephants on it. I smile and put it on my wrist. I finish up, get back into my car, and drive to our meeting spot. I park the car, take a deep breath, turn the car off, and wait patiently. I look at the clock and see it's 1:26 a.m. It's still dark out because it's early morning, and Luke and I haven't slept—we've been up all night getting ready for this.

I rest my head on the wheel and watch the clock. It's 1:45 now, and he still hasn't shown up. 'He's late...' I whisper to myself.
