"I just don't know if this is a role I should take, let alone audition for", I sigh as lie back on my couch. "Lia, just because the role isn't big doesn't mean you shouldn't give it chance. I'm sure you'll get plenty of recognition once the promo for The Little Mermaid starts", Elodie, one of my best friends, says.
"You're not wrong, I'm just tired of people thinking that I'm useless now that Rory's gone solo", I close my eyes as I think to myself. "First of all, Rory would kill you for saying that. Second of all, no one thinks that. People just think you're lying low until the movie, which you are", Elodie says as she slaps my leg.
I sigh and open my eyes to look at her. "What do you think I should do?", I ask her. "I think you should audition and when you get the part, because I have no doubt that you will", she emphasizes. I playfully roll my eyes at her and wait for her to continue.
"Then you can use that as a way to kind of reintroduce yourself to the public so they can start getting used to your face because they will be seeing it on every billboard, every social media platform, every movie and tv screen, and all over their kids cute Little Mermaid merch", she smiles.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is why I love Elodie. She always knows exactly what to say and do to cheer me up. "Yeah, I guess you're right", I mumble. "What was that? I'm literally the best person ever, you love me, and I'm always right?", she jokes. I roll my eyes again and kick her off the side of the couch. "You're annoying", I laugh as she hits the floor.
