Moving to New York

I decided to sell almost every I own or give it to my friends, my mom thought it would be a good idea to just start over. But living in New York City is already expensive enough buying everything new would just make it more expensive but it's all for the experience of being a poor adult in New York. I got this two story apartment but the upstairs was a loft with a balcony I wanted to cry when I saw the mortgage but let's hope I have a good season and maybe it won't be so hard.

I thought paying the mortgage would be the worse thing about this apartment but parking and bringing all of things to the apartment complex I realized that I couldn't do it by myself so had to call for back up

Kaapo: hey Colette
Colette: hey Kappo are you in New York yet
Kaapo: yeah why
Colette: I just got to my apartment and I need some help
Kaapo: yeah I can help what do you need help with
Colette: I have this couch that I barely fit into my car and I can't lift it to the complex
Kaapo: ok give me a minute what complex, wait let me go to my car

The line went silent as it sounded like he was walking down a fight of stairs

Colette: why is it taking you so long to get down a flight of stairs
Kaapo: there's a lot of stairs, okay i'm in the main lobby
Colette: hurry up your an athlete it shouldn't be taking you this long
Kaapo: Don't bring my athleticism in the conversation

I saw Kaapo walking out of the main lobby door of my complex and walking right by me and to his car

Colette: Kaapo, Kaapo I'm right here
Kaapo: oh I didn't see you
Colette: No shit

I hanged up the phone and walked to him

"So you have an apartment here too" I asked

"Yeah Level 2" He said

"I'm Level 4" I said

" Ok please help me" I begged him

"Ok fine" he said

"Yay" I said clapping and slightly jumping up and down

"What's so special about this coach any way" He said complaining while pushing the couch up the stairs

"It's a gorgeous coach stop complaining and start pulling your weight" I said arguing with him

"I'm pulling all the weight" He said peaking his head above the couch

"Pivot!" I screamed

"What direction!" He said

"Your Left!" I said

"No the other left!" I said

"There is no other left!" He said After a long argument on the stairs we finally got the couch and the rest of my furniture to my apartment

"Hey I got to head out call me if you need anything" He said

"I'll see you around"

Once Kaapo left I put together all the decorations, furniture, put up the paintings and watered the plants. Our first practice was July 10th and It's June 30th, I have 11 days to figure out how they all play, I learned if I knew how the opposing players played I could out play them, In the U.S Program I used to stay up late at night watching tapes for the opposing teams and It got me to where I am today. I re-watched every game the Rangers played last year and watched what they changed when they were losing or what normally stayed the same. The Rangers also just required Igor Shesterkin a goalkeeper from Russia. They emailed me the roster earlier this month but I haven't looked at it yet until know:

The people i'm scared of are Chris Kreider, Mika, Artemi, and Jacob Trouba. There are all amazing players but there's a reason they play like that. They play like there is no tomorrow, when I was looking at videos of each player there's one guy who I couldn't find much on was Igor Shesterkin, He played for a team in Russia and for the Hartford Wolf Pack ( he played for them in 2019 but I'm moving in a year back). The rangers pulled him up after his amazing year at Hartford and he's going to be their main goal keeper, after Lundqvist became a free agent.

I cooked myself food and walked outside to the balcony I had, that I filled with plants to give it a forest feeling. In Toronto there was a forest near our house that me and my brothers used to go in before our mom found out and banned us from ever going back to the forest. I missed my childhood home but I knew I was going to love New York, my new home.

I wondered what Jack was doing. Did he miss me? I missed him so much, it was weird not being with him I'd spent almost my whole life with him never leaving his side, now not being with him felt strange like I was missing apart of mysleft. I also wondered how my parents where doing they only had Luke at the house now and soon he was leaving for college how would it be at the house with no kids there not one. I descided to head to bed after a while of just thinking I felt like that was all I did. Think. I didn't have anyone to talk to at that moment or any moment.

The view soon became one of my favorite things about my new home. I had never seen anything like it, when the city got quite and not much noise the veiws were all you could focus on. there was somthing about the way the moon's light refelcted off of the talll buildings that made me feel comfotable in the big city.
