Raine stood there thinking as Chris stared at her, secretly hoping she'd say yes to staying over. "I've got sweatpants and a t shirt you could borrow, saves you sleeping in jeans for the night" he offered in a bid to make her stay.
"Where would I sleep though? There's already a lot of you in this house" she frowned slightly, preparing herself for disappointment, thinking he'd say she could stay on the couch.
"Well I was thinking...with me? My beds plenty big enough for the both of us. I promise you, and I absolutely mean it, this isn't so I can try anything on with you. You don't have a bed or duvet, I do. It'd be rude not to share, I mean..." He babbled on and Raine cut him off with he finger pressing against his lips. "If you quit rambling, I'll stay" she smiled.
Chris couldn't hide his joy, a huge friendly smile plastered on his face. "Mom? Raines staying the night. She hasn't got any furniture up or got any blankets, so I said she could stay here" Chris let his mum know before heading upstairs with Raine.
Following behind him, she already had butterflies in her belly. How many people can say they met Chris Evans that day and ended up in the same bed as him that night? Nervous didn't even cut it, she was beyond that.
He led her into his bedroom, where she awkwardly sat on the end of his bed. Looking around, she noticed he was very neat and tidy. Everything had a place and everything was in its place. Chris emerged from the walk in closet with a pair of grey sweats and a plain white tee. He set them on his desk and took a seat next to Raine. "If you feel too uncomfortable sleeping with me, I'll take the couch, it doesn't bother me" he stated, trying to reassure anything that could be going on in her head.
"I'm not uncomfortable at all, everything lately is just happening so quick. Sometimes I just need to step back and breathe" she explained, more to herself than him though.
He laid his hand on her knee and gently squeezed it. "I don't know what's going on in your head and I don't expect you to tell me but if you do ever need anyone to talk to about anything, I'm here. I try to be a good friend" he gently smiled at her causing her to lay her hand on top of his and just nod at him. No words came out of her mouth, her thoughts were too clouded as he was talking to think of a response. She was thankful though, maybe one day she could open up about her family.
Once she was changed and under the covers to try and get warm, Chris was looking for a film to put on "do you like any of the rocky films?" He asked as he stood at his bookcase full of DVDs.
"Rocky four's my favourite" Raine simply stated.
After starting the film up, Chris stripped off and grabbed a pair of light blue and white striped pyjamas bottoms. Whilst pulling them on he asked if she was bothered if he didn't wear a top, obviously she wasn't because he flicked the light off and crawled into bed next to her.
They both lay there with space between them watching the film. Raine kept stealing glances at him, he was more gorgeous closer up. His beard was always kept so neat and it perfectly covered the bottom half of his face. His smile lit the room up, he looked so innocent as he did. His hair was now starting to get messy where he was leaning on it. Chris caught her admiring him and smirked, not saying anything in case he embarrassed her.
However, after hearing her teeth chatter; signifying she was cold, he offered her a cuddle to keep her warm. It was all in innocence, he wanted nothing more than to have her in his arms. It's a feeling he's never really felt before, he'd usually date a girl for a few months with no real feeling other than lust. But it's different with Raine, he doesn't want to do anything sexual with her...not right now anyway. He's more than content just laying in bed cuddling and watching a film.
