Natalie had been on and off seeing Trent for a while.

She'd got used to the primarily late night conversations; knowing it suited them both. Secure in the knowledge that they both had daughters they were bringing up, who both struggled with english as an additional language, so needed a lot more attention than a regular child.

They rarely went out for a physical date, again, it suited them both. Trent always came round, Natalie would prepare a nice meal, and they'd fine dine with wine in the private of Natalie's apartment. She had always gotten Ellie to sleep before hand and she seldom woke up once fully settled; yet Natalie, and Ella, had the comfort of knowing she was there should she need her.

Even when she didn't intend to meet up with him, she often found themselves on the same nightly train, she often sat next to him, and he often held her by the waist, allowing her to relax for usually the first time in hours.

"Hey, hey why don't we ever go back to yours? We'd get longer together and we'd get back faster because we wouldn't have to take that stupid connecting train." She whispered, her fingers rubbing the fabric of his collar, keeping herself close as she did with her eye on her daughter.

"It's just in a mess my love," he pressed a gentle kiss to her hair "when the bathroom work has finished, then, then i promise you can come and stay, stay the weekend if you wish." Placing his other arm over her body, he pulled her closer.

Natalie smiled into his chest "When's that gonna be?" She whispered, praying for as soon as possible.  She trusted him, keeping her eyes on the screen above determining when they'd stop.

"Let me check my calendar," he took his phone out. He tilted his phone slightly away from Natalie, hoping she'd see nothing of it. Scrolling through the next month, a smile cracked as he worked out the significance of the date his fiancée would be away. "22nd December, they're done, the weekend before you fly off to Germany, Miss Paris, which means," he smirked, firming his grip around her waist.

"It means we can say goodbye properly," she raised her hand to his cheek, before leaning in and pressing a soft kiss upon his lips. Breaking away, she smiled another smile, one Trent hadn't seen from his new lover before.

"What's that smile for gorgeous?" He whispered, his thumb caressing the outside her arm.

"Just really really really happy with where I am now in life, where we are," she offered her hand, intertwining their fingers when he took it.

"Me too, me too," he powered his phone off completely, and just held her.
