Chapter Twenty-Two

(I rewrote this because I didnt like how Maiana and y/n reaction was so vague. Plus reading old comments about Maiana Simps heres your damn moment.)

All hope being lost until a glimpse of a familiar face appeared, fastening your pace a bit to speed walk, avoiding any accidents if you were to run and hit a kid or somebody. "Maiana!" You called reaching your hand for the girl. She spun around immediately after hearing your voice.

"Y/N?"

She held the tablet before her, puzzled by her forgetfulness. "Jeez I must be getting old." You both moved your conversation into a more confidential area, a nearby stairwell for staff specifically.

"I was just shoved into tracking you down." She sighed from your answer. "Im very sorry Y/N, because of me you've spent a portion of your shift searching for me." 

"No don't worry about it, Im glad we could interact with one another beforehand, most times I just run into you by accident. Problems of being monty's handler." She smiled from your sweet answer only for it to fade from realisation.

She softly took your hand into hers immediately causing your cheeks to heat up. "Speaking of Monty I need to warn-" Her sentence immediately being cut off by your fazwatches beeping. Her face soured at the sound knowing who it was. Taking a glance at the faz watch and completely removing your palms from hers. Your slight flustered state made sure to take this excuse immediately, only thing you could focus on was her soft palms. So soft for a rough and tough profession. What ever she was seriously needing to warn you about jusy flew through one ear and out the other.

"Woah look at the time!!" you huffed "I must go before I get a pay cut, we gotta movetheconversationtoanothertimeBYE!" You waved to her quickly before bolting out of there. You were behaving like a flustered school kid avoiding from getting cooties, if they are even real?

Maiana couldnt say a thing just was left with a confused and shock look. With a sigh of disappointment she mentally noted that she had to tell you sooner than later. It was necessary to make sure you didnt fall deeper than you already were.

"You're late." The gator grumbled as he leant against the metal post unimpressed with you. You sighed "I'm sorry I got caught up in something with colleagues" you fumbled on your fazwatch.
He clenched his teeth from the sound of your interactions with others than him, such a irration was quickly buried as fast as it appeared.
"I can report you for your lateness you know?" His words sounding like a threat clearly that emotion wasnt well buried,
Your eyes met his. "But since it was work related and accidental I guess I wont say a thing." He realised he was coming off abit threatening and wanting to avoid frightening you, his tone changed from reeking of envy to playing off as a joke.

"Good I cant afford a pay cut." You joked as you tightened the watch around your wrist. "So our schedule for todayyy-" your comfortably was something the gator noticed and decided not to overwhelm you. As you went through his schedule he couldnt have helped wonder why couldn't it been like this initially? Why did you need to stare at him with the exact fearful expression everytime.

Unlike the other day you abruptly left which gave him a sour taste. "And then you're meeting with a boy for his birthday. His father is a important investor of the company so make a good impression." He was brought back to reality as you turned away. "Let's get started now before I make you more late." The alligator couldn't lie he heard barely anything what had left your lips. Rather he was more focused on your calmed and reminding him of that day you ran to his defence.

He couldnt help but wondered more about you, rather than you being just any other employee you stood out to him. It intrigued him a bit by your difference to past handlers.

"Monty?" He reconnected to reality by your annoyed tone "what?" He eyed you forcing a sigh from you. "You weren't listening to a damn thing were you?" He didn't respond just continued staring at you.

"You've got to spend some time in your attraction to interact with guests." You ushered him to follow and he complied without complaint.

Notes!

- There was a altercation between Maiana and monty. Both clearly no longer have a positive relationship.

-Precious tuna boy has lost his sandwich and is now sulking that someone else ate it.

-Monty was worried you forgot about him.

-I rewrote this because the chapter was just a wip I had.
