I am running to school because it is my senior year and I am late to school

I am in my forth period sitting next to Mary

Then I got a big headache and I groaned a little

Hey, you okay? Mary asked

Yeah, my head just hurts. I said and I felt it hurt more

I got up and ran out the classroom while holding my head

I went outside to get some air and then I heard a voice in my head

Nephew, the sins found their champion, it is time for you to leave the shadows. I heard my uncle's voice

It is the end of the day and I am with Mary and the others

Then billy walked over

Hey, how was it today? Mary asked him

He didn't talk

That good, huh? Mary asked

Then a truck was about to hit Freddy but I picked him up and moved him out the way

The truck hit me instead and I fell to the ground

Oh, my god! Tanner. Are you okay? Mary asked and I got up

Yeah, barley hurt. I said

What the hell? What is wrong with you two? Mary asked the guys who got out the truck

Then one of them pushed me against the truck and pointed at a scratch on the truck

No way that's gonna buff out. Burke said

You gonna pay for that, Hayes? Brett asked

Don't touch me. I said and pushed him off me

Look at you standing up for yourself, you want us to beat you like we did last time. Burke said and pushed me and then Brett punched me

I fell and then one of them kicked me it the face

Stop it! I heard Mary yell and they kept kicking my face and body but I didn't fight back

I spit out blood then I saw Billy hit Burke

After a second Billy ran and the two chased him

Then Mary and the others helped me up

I'm sitting on Mary's bed with out a shirt on while she looked at the bruises on my body

Ow. I said

Sorry. She said

Let me clean the cut on your lip. She said and got the first aid kit

Okay. I said and she started to clean it

Why didn't you fight back? She asked

I know you can fight so, why didn't you fight back? She asked

I don't want to hurt anyone else. I said

What do you mean? She asked

My real parents are dead, my uncle gave me up, and I have been fighting my whole life, I'm done. I said

I love you. She said and looked in my eyes

I love you too. I said and kissed her

We kept kissing then I pulled away when I felt something happen in my body

It is time, nephew, find billy Batson, he is the new champion. I heard my uncle say in my head

What's wrong? Mary asked

I got to go. I said

Wait what? She asked and I got up and grabbed my shirt and sweater

I'll be back later. I said

Where are you going? She asked

To go do something. I said and walked out the room
