Billy Russo born on December 3, 1982 to a meth addict, abandoned by his own birth mother, Carla Russo, outside of a fire station in Albany, New York. Russo had then entered into the system and lived throughout various foster homes before being placed in a group home called, "Ray of Hope" for some years now. And to say it was rough was an understatement. He kept certain "events" that had happen with Arthur Walsh, who was one of the volunteer caregivers to himself. He simply would simply he fell, when the doctors asked him what had happened. And they believed him. Not that they had any time to inquire about the situation.
It was just another Saturday day, Billy was watching TV with some other kids. He was still the same old Billy to them even after the 'events'. He would say hello, eat food at the table, watch tv with them. He would even speak to the little ones, they loved his humor and expressions. But something inside him had definitely changed. He was more on gaurd. He would always make sure when he was out of his room, he was always around someone. Never alone, especially with the volunteers. He always kept a pen with him, his goal to stab it into anyone in the middle of the neck at it's base.
That day, later in the evening, one of the group home owners entered the house with a girl. She seemed perhaps a year or two younger than him. She wore a lavender pencil skirt, and a plain white top with lavender converse. Just another orphan, a rich orphan, he thought, and shifted his attention back to the TV.
The rest of the day went pretty much the same as every other Saturday. Breakfast, tv, homeworks, lunch, chores, playtime, leisure time and finally dinner. He never saw the new girl throughout.
When dinner time arrived, all the kids were at the table. The elder kids for serve the little ones as well as themselves. It was then, that he saw the new girl. She spoke something in one of the young female volunteer's ear, who nodded and smiled tmat the new girl. The volunteer, made the new girl a plate who then walked up the stairs, presumably her room.
Billy then started to think about his first day here. And before he could shed a tear or shout in rage, he closed his eyes, earsed his mind of the memories and simply ate his food in silence.
After dinner, the elder children washed the dishes while the young ones brushed their teeth, followed by the elder children doing the same.
As Billy layed in bed he couldn't help, but think of the day when he turned eighteen and would finally get out of this place. He would join the Marines, he found finally belong somewhere. He'd be free. And with these thoughts he finally drifted to sleep. In the room beside him, a girl who was shown a new place cried in her pillows as she felt complete and utter loneliness. She missed the idea of having proper parents. She wanted to miss her actual parents, but the pain and trauma wouldn't let her. She tried to sleep, but the nightmares kept disturbing her. So her sleep kept breaking throughout the night like her heart at been broken by the ones that should cared for her the most.
