"wait , so... you don't find that odd? like how can 'soulmates' dream of the same thing and the same time...?" beomgyu asks as kai and soobin smile lightly , always open to answering the curious boy's questions.
"well... we're not really sure ourselves but it must be since our minds , bodies , souls and whatnot are all one..... so it only makes sense that our subconscious minds are too?" soobin tries to explain as best he can.
"that's dumb" beomgyu tuts with a stir of his coffee , the two glancing to each other with knowing looks.
of course he'd reply like this , he hasn't changed the slightest. ever since that incident with his brother , beomgyu just doesn't believe in soulmates. he thinks they're fiction , made up to make young people believe that love is all good , cupcakes and rainbows , as he always likes to state.
"okay so— how about we play something? since well... it's raining and i doubt you guys wanna sit at a picnic in the rain" taehyun speaks in his usual monotone voice near the end.
"i wanna play hali gali!" kai calls out , quickly jumping up to his feet and dashing into the living room to grab the game.
"that? kai always always always cheats though!" yeonjun sighs heavily as he slowly eats his cereal , brows furrowed at the thought of having to deal with the cheating boy.
"don't worry , i've developed a way to keep him playing nice" taehyun smiles , soobin raising a brow at all of their very odd behavior.
"what... ningie doesn't cheat? he's literally an angel?" soobin speaks confused , all three whipping their head towards the tallest boy among them.
"he's a menace in games , soobin you're about to meet the master of all cheaters" beomgyu says as he slings his arm around his hyung who's seated at the table , bowl of cereal in front of him.
"yeah , he was terrible at it in the beginning , but he's practically a pro by now" taehyun says shaking his head , leaning against the boy's free shoulder.
"and boy is it hard to scold him , he's an angelic little baby and it makes you feel so so guilty" yeonjun sighs , swirling his corn flakes around as he keeps eye contact with soobin.
soobin knew there were things he didn't know about kai , damn he barely knew anything about these guys before meeting kai... it made and sometimes still maksa him feel a little left out. but this information really shocked him. he really couldn't believe what they were saying... that his precious little kai would be such a talented cheat.
"back~" kai sing-songs happily , placing the game on the table , quickly sitting down at the table.
"okay , jun you deal out the cards. i don't trust huening" taehyun says as yeonjun nods , kai rolling his eyes as the cards get taken away from him as he was shuffling them.
"okay then , let's have som fun!" soobin tries to brighten the mood but everyone remains in the same serious mood.
despite his comment , the game ended with kai getting pinned to the ground by taehyun as yeonjun scolds him loudly in disappointment and beomgyu searches his sleeves , pockets , chair and the underside of the table for any stashed cards. soobin was left to stare in silence , feeling utterly confused.
