I didn't know how long I'd been there.
The rain lashed my face relentlessly. Thunder rumbled in the distance, threatening a storm of a rare violence.
I shivered in my white uniform clothes, ignoring the bitterness lurking in the back of my throat, not caring about the tears rolling down my cheeks and probably causing my mascara to drip onto my skin in a veritable fiasco of black make-up.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning streaked the vault of heaven miles above my head, tearing the sky with a brief, blinding white light that illuminated the tombstone in front of me and allowed me to catch a glimpse of the epitaph engraved on it, an epitaph I now knew by heart.
Here lies Touya Todoroki

Cherished brother of Fuyumi, Natsuo and Shouto
Forever in our hearts
A smile stretched my lips. Every time I saw those words, which were full of lies, an uncontrollable urge to laugh hysterically seized me.
The thunder echoed again, closer this time, making heaven and earth vibrate strongly. With a flick of my wrist, I grabbed a soggy cigarette from the inside pocket of my white top, slipped it between my lips and reached for my lighter. Miraculously, I managed to light the fag and took a puff, reveling in the sensation of poisoned heat that spread down my windpipe and burned my lungs, before spitting out the dark smoke that evaporated into the rainy night. Then I parted my lips, speaking my first words in hours in a voice made hoarse by the ambient cold.
"We'll meet again, Dabi... Perhaps sooner than you think."
Without further ado, I turned on my heels, sinking into the darkness of the night without spotting the hooded man watching me from under a weeping willow.
