sequel to the previous one-shot!

Three months had passed since Theo had forgotten who Liam was.

He was running around Beacon Hills with Scott and his pack, trying to figure out what to do about their ghost rider predicament. He was still very much on thin ice, but Scott had much more trust in Theo than he did before. He still wasn't a member of his pack, but honestly Theo couldn't blame him. It would take a crazy amount of time for someone to forgive the guy that murdered them. But Theo was being helpful and making every right choice, and he had a group of people that knew they could count on him for at least that.

Liam had no idea how long it had been since he had been taken. Two days? Maybe three? He and Stiles were working relentlessly to figure out what they could do to get out.

Liam also couldn't stop thinking about Theo.

"Stiles, I know I've already told you about this but-"

Stiles put his hands on his hips. "Yes, you have. And frankly, I'm sick of hearing about it but I know you're going to continue, so." Liam looked at him, dumbfounded. "Well, proceed."

"I just can't get it out of my head. Theo isn't the type of person to sacrifice himself for anyone, at least he wasn't."

"Yeah, he wasn't and I'm no 'Theo defender' but the dude actually went to hell and back. That's got to change your character at least a little bit."

"I told him he deserved it."

"Well that's new information."

"We were talking in the hospital, kind of about what happened to him down there. He didn't tell me, but I told him I thought he was rotting down there and he said that I was right." Liam drew in a shaky breath. "And I told him that whatever happened to him down there, he deserved it. Right before I told him I was going to use him as bait."

Stiles shifted his weight to his other foot. "That's why he said he was being the bait when he was trying to save you. He was following your plan."

"I would've never seriously used him as bait, Stiles!" Liam's voice cracked just slightly. "I would never use anyone, not even him. Especially not him."

"Awh, Liam!" Sarcasm laced Stiles' voice. "You sound like you have a crush!"

Stiles was snickering about it, but hearing those words felt like the silence after a loud crash to Liam. Like Stiles had slammed something heavy into Liam's chest but removed the weight at the same time.

Maybe he did have a crush on Theo. Is that even possible? Liam had never liked a boy in this way before, but he suspected the feeling like someone had stabbed him in the chest was realization. And all he had been thinking about for three days was Theo. The way he looked at Liam was enough to make anyone melt, and when green eyes met blue, nothing else mattered.

Liam thought maybe that's why the pair always seemed to fight. Liam had been angry his whole life and when feelings he didn't understand showed themselves, he resorted to the one he did know. Everyone had always treated him like a time bomb, even Scott. But not Theo. Theo took the punches, he let Liam get it out, and told Liam he was getting better at controlling it. Theo believed he could.

Stiles had stopped laughing and was now looking at Liam. "Um, Liam, I was just kidding."

"Yeah, I know, but-"

The announcer's voice sounded, cutting Liam off. "The train will be arriving in 25 minutes." People got off their benches, weaving in between Stiles and Liam.

Then came the real breakthrough.

"Liam," Stiles whipped his head around, like he was looking for something. "Can you hear that?"
