As I sat on the couch, feeling a mix of frustration and sadness, I couldn't help but replay the argument I had with my boyfriend, Chris, in my mind. We had always been a couple to openly communicate, but this disagreement seemed to escalate quickly, leaving both of us emotionally drained.
It all started innocently enough. We were discussing our plans for the weekend, trying to find a compromise between his desire to go camping and my wish to spend a relaxing weekend at home. The conversation seemed civil at first, but as we delved deeper into our differing opinions, tension began to build.
"I just want some time away from the city, away from the noise," Chris said passionately. "Camping would be a great opportunity for us to reconnect with nature and each other."
"I understand that, Chris," I replied, attempting to remain composed. "But I've been feeling overwhelmed lately, and I just need some downtime. Being surrounded by nature isn't going to help me relax."
The calmness in my voice seemed to irritate Chris. He retorted, "You always prioritize your own needs. How about considering what I want for once? We can't always do things your way!"
His words stung, hitting a nerve deep within me. I took a deep breath, trying to keep my emotions in check. "Chris, I'm not saying we can't go camping. I'm just asking if we can find a compromise that suits both of us. Maybe we can plan a day trip to a nearby nature reserve instead?"
Chris scoffed, clearly not satisfied with my suggestion. "A day trip? That's not the same, and you know it. You're being selfish, as usual."
His accusatory tone was the tipping point for me. My calm facade crumbled, and I raised my voice in frustration. "Selfish? I'm trying to meet you halfway, Chris, but it seems like you're only interested in getting your way. This isn't fair!"
The room fell into an uneasy silence as we both took a moment to collect ourselves. The weight of our words hung heavy in the air, and the realization that we had lost control of the conversation sank in.
"I didn't mean to call you selfish," Chris said, breaking the silence. "I'm just frustrated because I feel like my needs are always put on the back burner."
I looked into Chris's eyes, sensing the vulnerability behind his words. "I understand that, Chris. And I'm sorry for not considering your needs more. Let's try to find a compromise that works for both of us."
We continued our conversation, this time with a renewed sense of understanding and empathy. By listening to each other's viewpoints, we were able to find a solution that satisfied both our desires – we would spend the weekend at home, but plan a hiking trip the following weeken

You were not having it today. You were not feeling the best. Your head was killing you and your stomach was cramping. You were not in the mood for anything.
You were sitting in math class just staring at the board. You looked over at Teddy and saw an evil look in his eyes.
Teddy then stood up and started asking all these stupid questions. You grabbed his hand and pulling him down back in his seat. "Sit down and shut up." You snapped. Teddy looked over at you with an upset look.
The last bell of the day had rung you grabbed your stuff and started walking home. "Y/N!" You heard some yelled your name. You turned around and saw Teddy walking up to you.
"What was that?" You rolled your eyes not wanting to hear about it. "What was that in math?"
"Look Teddy, I'm sorry." You apologized. "I was tired and not feeling good." You slowly walked over to him, resting your head on his shoulder.
"It's OK, Cupcake." Teddy kissed the top of your head. "You wanna go home?" He asked. You just nodded. You kept your head on his shoulder the whole way home with his arm around you.

You knew how important it was to Gordie for you and his friends to get along. He just didn't like how well you got along.
You and Chris got along great. You guys had a brother/sister relationship. Currently the two of you were playing poker. Gordie, Teddy and Vern were talking about God knows what.
You had just won the game. You jumped up in joy cheering. All the other boys looked up at you. Chris just smiled at you.
On your way home you could tell something was bothering him. "What's wrong?" You asked.
"I don't know. Why don't you go ask Chris?" Gordie huffed. You rolled your eyes and sighed.
"What do you mean?" You asked again. "You wanted me to meet your friends and go get along with them."
"Do you like Chris more than you like me?" He asked. You couldn't believe what he just asked.
"Have you lost your mind?" You asked. "Chris is like my brother. I don't like him nor do I want him." You looked over to Gordie.
"I'm sorry for assuming." He said looking up at you with sorrow in his eyes.
"It's Ok." You said and hugged him.

You and Vern never fought. Whenever you thought something was off you always made sure to ask the other instead of just assuming.
