"Look, your obviously on the run. We wont ask questions about it. Do you want to join us? We will need to know your name. I provide as much food as I can, but apart from that, shelter and water, your on your own in terms of supplies. So, what do you say?" Amos was intrigued by them. How could they have such a good shot. Was it luck?
"That sounds good. My name's Thana Wren. I come from Redside,"
"I've never herd of that place before. Is it on the map?" Egan's curiosity was childlike.
"I'm pretty sure it's in a rural part of England," Thana said with tiredness in their voice.
Verry soon after, they went into the tent for the night. Amos offered his blanket to sleep on, but Thana denied, saying how he was already being generous enough. That night, they had a vision. It was of the three of them and the Gods for some reason. They were kneeling in front of these powerful entities. Then the vision changed.
Now they saw fire. People trying to flee but being stopped by a massive boulders. A sword lay on the ground, shattered.
It was now day. Thana had woken up from their vision but had no clue what had just occurred.
"Vision?" Amos asked.
"Something like that." Thana said.
It was time to eat. Amos told Thana about hunting. He was no good whith a bow, so Egan did most of the hunting. They ate cooked rabbit with some water for breakfast as it was high in energy. Thana thought it was a little dry but quite good.
After breakfast, they took a trip through the woods.
"Where are we going?" Thana hated not knowing what was about to happen.
"Work. How do you think I got the tent? I will sign you up with the boss. Egan is staying here because he makes the resources.. We trade and distribute goods to the local community. Nothing illegal, though I have been known to do the odd job on the side for a little extra cash," Amos said whilst they walked.
"So that's why he carved all those bows," Thana was intrigued.
"Bestseller," Amos said.
After another 10 minuets of tracking, through the woods, they arrived at a small hut held together by string. Part of it was attached to a tree. That thing looked like it couldn't of survived the lightest of storms.
Amos opened the door. A man emerged seemingly from out of the shadows. "That a new recruit?" The Man asked. Amos just nodded.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Dec. Jobs simple. You give me stuff to sell or I give you stuff to sell to other people who sell that item and pay me a fee," Dec did not seem merciful.
"I don't have any jobs available at the moment," He grunted.
"What. Why? We need the money w-" Amos begged.
"Hold it," Dec said. "If I'm getting no money why should you. Out. Now,"
With a heavy sigh, they left the building defeated and went back to camp.
Time skip
When they got back to Camp Pluto, Amos spared Thana. Some friends of their parents talt them how to fight. They fort well, but Thana had a better defence.
"Good thing these are training swords," Amos said.
Another time skip like 46 weeks into the future
[Because I'm so predictable]
New- Egan POV:
I was minding my own business. The others were sparing . I am never invited to these things but I've made my peace with it. Then I saw a finger I recognised. About a year ago, when I first came to Camp Pluto, these two people would come and train us. I leant both how to fight and shape wood from him. It was every day. Then they just stopped showing up. This was him.
He smiled and pointed at my head. It was a golden glowing symbol of a gate? No, a harp. WHY IS THERE A GLOWING HARPN ABOVE MY HEAD?
I rushed to where my fellow campers were sparing.
