**** Rose's POV ****

Adam may think he is funny for driving like a hyperactive dragonfly, speeding its way through the traffic and breaking god knows how many traffic signals. I think not. All he did was terrify a poor lady with a pram. And every time I told him to slow down, he completely ignored me as he sped through faster than before. Obsidian on the other hand was completely calm as he stared ahead, much like Adam and very unlike me.

When we finally arrived, he stepped on the brakes so hard that his car skidded a few meters ahead of the parking line. He hurriedly put the car into park before unbuckling his belt.

"Geez!" I breathed in utter relief. "One would think you were trying to achieve the speed of light the way you were driving." But he didn't answer, as he was already at my side of the car, opening the door.

Once I was out, one of his hands grabbed a hold of mine, leading me away as Obsidian silently followed. I tried to free my hand from Adam's grip, but his grip only tightened. He took large steps towards a worn out jetty that had waves crashing on its sides with no sign of anything else. When Adam came to yet another abrupt halt, his eyes roaming the black sea in confusion, a gust of cool air whipped my hair back, causing me to breath in the salty essence of the sea.

"It should be here by now," muttered Adam for the first time, squinting in the dark.

"It must have drowned," I laughed. "In which case, you will have my deepest sympathy." And just to see his reaction, I looked at him.

Big mistake.

I imagined he would just smile and roll his eyes, yet he didn't even look a tiny bit amused. All that I saw was hunger on his pressed lips, an undeniable tension in his grip and a terrifying savagery in his eyes. My breath hitched in my throat as the jacket keeping me warm became not enough to prevent the shiver running up my spine.

My mind told me to run as he let go of my hand and grabbed me by the waist, leaving only an inch of distance between our lips. Call it what you will, stupidity, desperation, or blame the cold. It won't change the fact that suddenly I wanted to kiss him. What the hell Rose!

"I terrify you, don't I?" Asked Adam, fingers caressing my cheek. I instantly recoiled and embraced myself; afraid I would fall apart under his gaze.

"Maybe..." I whispered. Though, I really wanted to say 'Yes. Yes, you do scare me. A lot'

"I would never hurt you. Not intentionally." Spoke Adam, looking back at the dark horizon.

"Do I scare you?" I asked, expecting him to say no and

"Yes." Said Adam, immediately. "You do scare me, Rose. I feel things for you. God knows, I would like to hold you. You make me vulnerable to more things than I can count." He finished with a humorless chuckle, looking up at the sky.

"I normally have something witty to say to confessions." I said, with complete honesty. To which he softly laughed, making that one invisible dimple visible for that one fleeting moment in time.

It looked good on him.

**** Yi Jung POV ****

The dinner was a dull affair if you ask me. Self-absorbed knuckleheads chatting away about the millions their fathers earned. Girls swarming me no matter what I told them. Jun Pyo was being his usual late self, Woo Bin was busy worrying about Rose, while Ji Hoo remained at Seo Hyun's side like a guard. It left me with little entertainment to be honest. I couldn't help it when my mind wondered back to my childhood days. Days, I liked best.
