*** Rose's POV ***

I found the room Gan Dia and Gaeul shared and knocked. After a few knocks Gaeul opened the door and beckoned me in wordlessly. I followed her in and found Gan Dia lounging on the couch across from the TV. She took one look at me and closed the TV. She made me sit on the couch with her and gave me the ‘explain’ look. And the words just pooled out of me one after the other.

After I was finished, Gan Dia stared at me with dilated eyes, not saying anything. Gaeul on the other hand spoke too fast for me to make sense of anything clearly.

“So he was your brother? I mean, no. Because your adopted and all. So wait, how can they force you to marry someone like that? Are you okay with all this? What about your dreams? What about your safety? Why isn’t anyone stopping this? How can they call themselves your friends?” It went on until I decided to tune her out.

“Gan Dia… I know.” I said focusing on Gan Dia. “I should have told you guys earlier but… I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.”

At this Gan Dia’s eyes softened as she gave me an apologetic smile. I breathed a sigh of relief as Gaeul also stopped talking and quietly grabbed on to my uninjured hand.

“Yes, you should have told us sooner, but I am also happy that you at least told us.” Said Gan Dia, making fists as her eyes narrowed into slits. “Now! Who do I have to punch first?” Inquired Gan Dia in a serious tone.

I laughed at her childish expression as she smiled, pleased with her self. It was then that knew, I wanted to remain friends with them for a long time, possibly for forever.

Time flew by as I enjoyed being a normal girl for once with my friends. It was what some liked to call ‘a day well spent’. Gaeul bought herself unhealthy amounts of sweets and lollies while Gan Dia tried on silly costumes for the hell of it. I on the other hand devoured as much coffee as I could get my hands on. I didn’t buy much since I wanted to save the money for rent apart from gifts for my friends. I wanted to bottle the feeling I had while around them.

When time came for us to head back to the hotel, I didn’t want to go. I wanted to stay there with my friends and watch the sun set over the horizon. But we were already late so we hurried back to the hotel.

When we reached the hotel, Adam was already waiting in the lobby. He had his usual office suit on with a scarf for tie. But from what I could see, it seemed that he paid extra attention to his hair for once. Every lock of black was gelled to place with perfect care. It made me stumble a little, for which I mentally cursed myself.

When Gan Dia noticed Adam, she sipped on her slushy loudly before saying, “I could come with you.”

I looked at her and smiled for offering. “No. I don’t know what he has planed. I don’t want you to get hurt.” I said as I started to walk in Adam’s direction where he sat spinning a pen between his fingers with eyes out of focus.

I heard Gan Dia and Gaeul’s goodbyes as they made their way to the lift and I came to a stop in front of Adam. His stare focused on me for a fraction of a minute before glaring at something behind me. Which happened to be my Brother with a black Pitbull marching alongside him.

“Rose. I thought I told you to rest for the day.” Spoke Woo Bin as he stood beside me with his dog sniffing at my feet.

“And I thought I told you that I am old enough to make my own decisions.” I bit back scratching behind the dog’s ears as it affectionately nestled in to my palm.
