Good or bad news?

Hearing that , made me let out a sigh. I don't remember doing anything wrong but who am I kidding? Even when I don't do anything wrong, I still get 'punished' either way. I decided to make my way to the principal's office but before I could take a step out of the restroom, I stuffed my hands in my usual black hoodie that hides my bloody scars and now my bandaged wrists. Then I start the journey where I was met halfway with Lily by my side.

She spotted me quite fast , turning around to look directly at me with disgust and spat angrily, "If sir ask you anything about me and my friends, if u tell him about us bullying u , then u will regret it! Do you understand, you ugly, useless brat!"

Knowing the consequences of not obeying them , I quickly nodded in understanding before entering the principal's office. I looked at the ground as I always do ,to show obedience and avoid others from getting angry. When I entered the office , I started to freak out internally as a woman who looks like a social worker and the principal had pity on their faces.

On instinct, I looked at Lily and saw tears in her eyes and shock evident on her foundation face. Well , it seems like she knew what was happening whereas I was left baffled by what's going on. Until the principal said,"Good afternoon , Lily and Rose! I wished we would have be present here for a better conversation but sadly what we have found out about is a devastating news. I hope you girls can stay calm and cope with us."

Once he was done speaking, he looked at us for a silent approval to move on. When he got a verbal 'yes' from Lily and an approving nod from me , he looked to his left where the lady is standing , sending a nod to her as if to say 'You may speak now'.

Well that made me get confused again as I feel that their so called devastating news is not really devastating at all or atleast for me. I mean like what can be more devastating than the fact that I'm still alive even after being through all their abuse and bullying which lead me to the end of death multiple times and yet I sadly survived.

Call me ungrateful but I would of really appreciated it if I died because honestly I died long time ago mentally so why not die physically too? Before I could think of more suicidal thoughts, I was snapped out of my thoughts by a woman clearing her throat.

I looked up from the ground and found the lady standing straight , looking at me with a raised eyebrows as if waiting for me to speak. I just looked back at the floor after I gave her a small nod.

Before she could speak , she sighed and then said ,"Hello, girls! I am Sarah Jones. I have found out that your parents have been murdered in a dark alley. When the police was investigating the situation, they found drugs in their pockets which is suspected to be the cause of their death. They believe the drugs have something to do with a mafia gang. I'm sorry for your parents , girls. As one of the detectives for your parents' case , has found Rose's family but sadly for you , Lily , I can't seem to find any other family members of yours so we can only put you in a orphanage until some adopts you."

Looking at Lily whose makeup smudged her face , she finishes her small speech. Then suddenly the principal speaks saying, "Lily , you may leave now and you , Rose will go with Miss.Jones to the police station because she has already informed your father and brothers so they will pick you up at the police station in an hour. Goodbye girls , take care!"

When he finished speaking, Lily left the office angrily , leaving me here with the adults whose probably waiting for me to make a move. Miss Jones then ask me ,"Rose , are you ready to leave? My partner sent me a message stating that it's better to be there early so you can rest for a while before they arrive."

I absentmindedly gave her a small nod and started following her outside the principal's office and into the long corridor. Due to how long way it is from the principal's office to the school exit , I ended up thinking of my family.
