It was warm.

I don't remember where I am, but it was loud.

God, I just want this noise to stop. Hands were on me. Why can't I see them? I reached my hands up to my face, a cloth covering my eyes.

I was hungry.

Starving.

I could smell those around me, and now I could see them. Who are they?

"He's awake."

"Chernobog."

"The chosen."

It was dark, but not dark enough for me to not see anything. My stomach was churning, I felt as if I was eating myself alive.

"You fucking monsters!" I heard someone on the right yell. He was the loudest. It was his heart I could hear. "What did you do to him?! What happened to Jack?" He was crying.

"He was brought enlightenment Greg."  The girl behind me spoke. She put her hands on my shoulder, "Jack here has become the perfect. Subject." She gave a squeeze now. I can't stand her voice

"You think this is enlightenment?! You killed him!" He was thrashing around, he sounded like he was going to explode. My mouth was filled with saliva at the sound.

"Look at him." She grabbed my face. I couldn't take it anymore. Her voice, the sounds of their hearts racing. The rain outside. I could hear everything.

I took her hand off my face and pulled her forward.

I need to eat.

I took a bite out of her bicep. She screamed bloody murder in my ear. The others ran out, the one shouting kept yelling for Jack. I bit her neck, my thumbs drove themselves into her eyes and peeled her face. I looked up and bolted to the others. The one on the ground previously shouting was fast. But I could catch up. I know it.

"Jack, please." He shouted back. The pleas he shouted mean nothing. I caught up and my hands wrapped around his waist. He landed on a creek bed and his head cracked on impact, one other screamed nearby probably seeing what their friends fate was. Before I go after him I need more. I reached into this body and sniffed around, scavenging into his body I grabbed the thing that smelled the sweetest. My mouth was watering even more than before. He had only one, but I held the organ in my hand and took a bite. My reflection in the water distracted me. No eyes, but I could see? The flavor brought me back to my senses.

I've never tasted anything more delightful in my short existence. I reached in further to see if there was anything else, but there was nothing.

I ran again towards the scream from before, my nose leading me to the next set. This one was wearing a cape it looked like. Strange for this weather.  My legs were moving quick, over each branch, over the rocks and straight on to the next set. My hands dug straight into their back and they screamed. My nails impaled themselves into the soft skin and forced them to the ground. I ripped my hands out and was holding the sweet organs now. I could still hear their hearts all around me. I could smell them. I need more.
