Aliyana POV:
As I stared into his eyes, I noticed he was also looking at mine. I was so absorbed in his gaze that I was unaware of my surroundings, and yet I felt a connection between us, until someone behind me asked me to hurry up. 'It's so freaking embarrassing,' I thought to myself, as I quickly placed my order. I returned to our table where Kylie was smiling creepily at me. 'Oh no,' I whispered to myself, knowing what was about to happen. I thought you said he looked musty and probably smelled. Kylie stated.
"In fact, he does"
"You both looked at each other very intently, so it did not appear that way". She laughed.
As I surveyed him, I remarked that he looked musty, but he had beautiful eyes.
"Perhaps he found your eyes attractive as well, and that was why he kept staring at you."
"Alternatively, he may believe that I am a weirdo."
"It is an odd situation, isn't it?
Upon reflection, I must admit that it is slightly unusual, but I dismissed my thoughts by saying, "nothing to do with me, so let's leave it at that."
In response she said, "What do you mean, its not our business he was staring at you what if he is a creep?"
"like what if he is a crazy stalker and stalk you?"
"A guy with those pretty eyes, I will be glad to be followed by him" I said with a wink and we both laughed.
While I chatted with Kylie, my attention was solely on him. Out of nowhere, I saw him rushing out of the café with panic in his eyes. I have no idea why I wanted to chase after him, but I probably can't and shouldn't. After all we are strangers.
Kylie and I spent almost the entirety of the day together, but his beautiful green eyes have never left my mind, flashing in and out of my mind like a vivid memory whenever I think of him. I've got to be mad for thinking about a stranger, I thought to myself, when suddenly I hear a knock at my door. "Aliyana", my father said with such a sweet voice, honestly, I've been longing to hear my father's sweet voice for quite some time now, 'You can come in.' I said firmly.
"Aliyana, dear, I'm sorry I got mad at you this morning", okay now I'm confused, what's going on, he rarely apologizes, even when we're arguing, but now I don't understand how he is even apologizing. No, the real question is why he's apologizing. "Its fine, nothing new" I said sarcastically.
"Oh dear. Why don't you go out for dinner and let me make it up to you, what do you think?" I was about to decline but then I thought why not try it and see what he wants.
After 20 minutes, I got ready, and we went out.
'I know Aliyana this is your favorite restaurant, I remember.' he said with an awkward laugh. It used to be, "I hesitated for a moment, but then I said it to him, "it's my mom's favorite place, she loves this restaurant, and you know why?"
"Of course, you do not know, it is the place where you and mom had the first date, which is why it was her favorite. You've forgotten everything, including the fact that you used to love me and mom!" I said with tears welling in my eyes. "Lets not talk about it right now, I've got something important to talk to you about," my father said. "So, what I'm saying right now, it isnt important? It doesn't matter how your daughter feels? You don't care about my feelings!" I yelled.
"Oh, come on Aliyana, MOVE ON, its been years, you have to learn to live without her".
His eyes widened as he realized what he had just said.
He regretted at that very moment, "I'm sorry Aliyana, I didnt mean to say that, I-.."
No, stop dad, youre right, I should move on.
He saw tears dwelling up in her eyes.
He tried to hold me, but I pushed him and ran away, as far as I could. I'm not even sure how long I ran until I felt my knees give way. I tried to catch my breath when it suddenly started raining. 'Great' I said to myself in frustration while crying. I couldnt hold my tears and I wept and wept Until someone held an umbrella when I looked up my eyes went wide.
"you".is all I could say.
