Cassie Riley-Weather wasn't a horror fan. This was only because her life was a horror movie because of the events she had gone through almost her whole life. At the age of seven, she was babysat by a serial killer named Jill Roberts and witnessed horrifying things. Years of therapy helped ease some of the trauma, but it never went away.

It had been eleven years since then, and Cassie was about to experience it all over again.

"What about Child's Play?" Wes, Cassie's boyfriend asks her as they decide on what movie to watch together.

"How many times do I have to tell you? I don't want to watch any horror movies." She says as she looks at other movie choices online. "What about Ten Things I Hate About You? It's my favorite!" She turns her computer to face Wes, to show the movie cover.

He sighs looking at the screen and turns it back to her.

"Rom-Coms are so cheesy though." He complains. Cassie crosses her arms and gives him an annoyed look.

"Horror is cheesy too." He laughs as he skimmed through the other options.

As the couple look through the other choices, while also playfully bickering at each other, Cassie's phone begins to ring. Cassie looks around on Wes' bed to find her phone. It was a call from her friend Amber, so she answered.

"Hello?" she answers, not knowing this phone call was gonna change everything.

"Cas, Tara's at the hospital." Amber weeps over the phone.

"Holy shit. Why? Is she okay? what happened?" Cassie starts to worry.

"Some guy in a fucking Ghostface mask came and stabbed her like seven times. She's in surgery now." Cassie's stomach dropped as soon as the word Ghostface appeared. Emotions were overflowing her and memories too. Everything around her made her feel nauseous.

"Wes, talk to Amber," She hands the phone to him and gets up from his bed.

"Why? What's going on? You okay?" He starts to ask questions that Cassie was too sickly to answer at the moment.

"I gotta puke." She covers her mouth and starts to run to his bathroom. Shutting the door, she quickly locks it and opens the toilet lid. Not long after, she throws up as she clutches her brown hair.

Tears began to roll down her eyes as soon as she stopped. Cassie then flushes the vomit-filled toilet and leans back against the wall. She begins to quietly sob, now knowing her life is gonna go to complete shit.

While shaking, she begins to count her fingers to make sure she was dreaming. Sadly, she wasn't dreaming.

Calming herself, she starts to slowly breathe and hold her breath, like her therapist has told her to do. One last tear rolls down her eye before she finally relaxes.

Wes starts to knock on the door, making sure his girlfriend is okay.

"Cas, are you good? Can you let me in?" he calmly asks her on the other side of the door.

Cassie quickly wipes her tear away and gets up to open the door for Wes. Opening the door, she sees him leaning on the door frame.

"Babe, you good?" He asks her another time.

"Yeah– yeah." quietly, she says hesitantly. Wes goes up to her to give her a hug that he knew she needed. His warm embrace made her one-hundred times better than she felt before.

"Hey, I was thinking, I kinda wanna watch Ten Things I Hate About You now." He smiles that kind smile he always had.

"Really?" she grins at him.

"Yeah, it will help lighten the mood." He says before giving a kiss on her lips.

"I love you, Wes." She says looking at his greenish-blue eyes.

"I love you more Cassie." They kiss again before heading back to his bed to watch the movie.

When they get tucked in the bed Wes asks her one more thing before starting the movie.

"Hey, I think you should tell your dad what's going on before anything."

"Yeah. For sure." Cassie pulls out her phone to text him.

"Ghostface is back." She texts, and not long after he responds.

"You got to be shitting me."
