Clint watches as Nat and Y/n run around trying to set up a birthday party that he didn't want. He appreciated the effort but he did not like celebrating his birthday and watching his best friends try to change his mind was doing nothing for his mood on it.
"Guys, I don't need a party" he says again for the fifth time.
"Don't be stupid, you deserve to have a nice birthday Clint" Nat doesn't even look at him as she speaks, to busy hanging banners up.
Y/n frowns at his words and sneaks a peak, he really didn't look happy at the prospect of having all his friends making a fuss over him. She watches as he slinks off with a shakes of his head, maybe this was a bad idea.
"Nat, I really don't think he wants this" you try but Nat keeps going with the banners.
"Oh, he's just being Clint. He'll love it once it gets going" she hums under her breath.
You frown and look back to where Clint had wandered off to, you didn't know why he didn't like to celebrate but at this point you supposed it didn't really matter, his wishes were being ignored. Chewing your lip you try to think of something that would make him smile today, he deserved that at the least. With a sigh you help finish decorating, it left you with two hours to get ready for the party.
Heading to your room, your starting to feel bad about the party. If he really didn't want it he shouldn't be forced to but Nat would undoubtedly make him come anyways. Hmm make him come, make him come. Those words ring through your head and you grin, you knew exactly how to make him smile on his birthday now, he would have to endure the party for a bit so you could start your plan. Smiling you run for the shower, cleaning up and washing your hair quickly. You dry and style it into soft waves down your back, Clint had once told you it looked like silk that way and that he loved the smell and it is his birthday after all. You apply your make up, sultry eyes and dark lips before rummaging in your closet for a short emerald green sheath dress and black stiletto sandles, outfit chosen you dig through your underwear for a strapless black lacey bra and a matching thong. Checking your clock you had ten minutes to hit the party floor. You dress quickly and grab the present you had bought him, already wrapped and head for the elevator. You smile at the thought of your plan, you really hoped he would go for it. It had crossed your mind once or twice before but you had never acted on the impulse, but tonight you would for him.
The party has started when you get there, the music loud and annoying and people spread out all over the place. You see Nat living it up on the dance floor as you pass, tugging a morose looking Clint around. You put his present on the table and head for the bar. You would need a little courage for this plan, downing a shot of tequila and then grabbing a beer and a cocktail, and move for Clint. At the edge of the dance floor he looks over at you, eyes wide at your outfit. A smile flits across his face as you hold up a beer and signal for him to come get it. He practically runs from Nat and swipes the drink up making you chuckle.
He grabs your hand and tugs you to a cubby to sit down in. He looked good in the dark blue shirt and smart black trousers he had on, the shirt pulled a little over his shoulders, showing off how toned they are. You lick your lips at the sight as you sit beside him.
"So, how's it going?" you ask with a small smile, he smiles sadly and shrugs.
"It's alright, looks good in here and had a few drinks so far" you pat his shoulder in sympathy.
You really wished you and Nat had listened to what he wanted instead of inflicting this party on him. Leaning in a bit you kiss his cheek.
"If you can hang on for a bit, I have a surprise for you" his brows go up, waiting for you to tell him.
