"Are you positive you packed everything?" Ian's mom shouted from across the room, pulling a list out of her pocket and running through the scribbled words.
"Toothbrush?"
"Yes." Ian groaned, pulling out the toothbrush to show proof.
"Deodorant? I don't want you stinking up the cabin or something."
"I've got two bottles, I'm pretty sure I won't smell, Mom." Ian weakly smiled. Having an overprotective mother can sure be annoying at times, but Ian's secretly glad his mom at least notices him. (Although he'll never physically say it)
"What about boxers? God, I would hate it if you had to run out."
"Jesus Mom, I've got like half my drawer. And don't worry, they have washing machines. I don't think they'd want us to buy new clothes every week."
Ian's mom glared at him. "Language young man."
Ian held his hands up in defence. "Sorry." He mumbled and zipped up his suitcases.
"I can't believe that my baby will be gone all summer." Ian's mom pouted, walking up to Ian and placing her hands onto his cheeks.
"Wonder what you'll do without me.." Ian scoffed, squirming out of his mom's grasp and pulling the suitcases onto the floor.
"You know, just invite a bunch of friends and knit sweaters." Ian's mom smiled at him, leaning up against the door frame.
"Wow, can't believe I'm missing out on that." Ian faked a smile and began rolling his suitcases out of his room.
"You're so sarcastic today." Ian's mom stuck out her tongue, grabbing Ian's last bag and following him out of his room.
"Sorry. Nerves are catching up with me." Ian mumbled and opened the garage door, heading over to the trunk of the car.
"There's no need to be nervous, I'm sure you'll make a friend in no time, dear." Ian's mom smiled, unlocking the trunk for Ian and placing the gym bag into the trunk.
"Well let's hope so. A summer spent without socializing sounds awful!" Ian snarked, grimacing at the tone of his voice.
"Sorry Mom, I really hope I'm not like this at camp." Ian sighed, hauling the last suitcase into the trunk.
Ian's mom gave a sympathetic smile to her son and engulfed him into her arms. "Don't worry. Does a Mountain Dew and a couple donuts sound okay now?"
Ian smile widely and hugged his mom tightly.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome you cheesy sap, now get in the car before registration is over." Ian's mom giggled, pulling her son to the front of the car.
[ so new story huh? someone on ask was really excited for this so I thought I better start working on it! :) this prologue is short and sweet, but the next update will be a little while, I need to stock up on chapters! ]
