Chapter Nineteen - Caught

Ashley Brooks.

I took big deep breaths until I was finally able to regulate my breathing.

"Okay, I can breath now." I said getting up.

"Ashley, what about the baby." whispered Harry in my ear as he hugged me.

I didn't answer and walked out of the questioning room, leaving Caroline in there kicking the table and screaming.

"Ashley, are you alright?" asked Reid hugging me.

"Hands off, Reid." Harry spoke from behind me.

Ever since he found out Reid comforted me and I kissed his cheek, he doesn't want me around him anymore. Reid is a great friend and a member of my team, Harry can't say anything to him or me because he knows we're nothing more than friends.

I rolled my eyes, "Ignore him, Reid. I'm fine, she just punched me a few times." I said hugging him back.

"Ashley, Agent Brooks is in your office. He'll check on the cuts and bruises on your face." said Hotch with a sigh.

"I'll go and see what Brooks says." said Morgan as we walked out of the room and towards my office.

"Who's Agent Brooks? I thought I was the only Brooks in the team?" I said a bit confused.

"Ashley, Josh Brooks was excepted into the BAU as an Officer with Medical Training. Which is someone very useful to the BAU." smiled Morgan.

"J-Josh is here? M-My brother?" I asked in shock and happiness.

"Why don't you see for yourself." smiled Morgan opening the door to my office.

I stepped inside and there standing in front of me was my brother, whom I haven't seen since I was assigned to this case. I couldn't begin to describe how happy I was to see him. I could feel myself trying to hold back my tears.

"Josh?" I breathed out as tears began forming in my eyes.

"Aw, come on Ash. Don't cry." smiled Josh pulling me into a hug.

The warm, familiar feeling of having my brother's arms around me calmed me down from what happened in the questioning room. Whenever I'd have a bad day at work, Josh would always give me a call or come to visit and make everything better again. Now that I haven't been able to see him lately, this hug really helped me.

"What happened to you?" He asked noticing the cut on my lip and redness around my eye.

"Questioning gone wrong." I chuckled.

"Well I can see that, but why?" He asked.

"Ex-girlfriend of Harry's got mad at me for being his girlfriend." I explained.

I regretted the moment I opened my mouth, especially when he stayed there gawking at me. He wasn't aware of the situation, therefore he had no idea about Harry and I's relationship.

"Woah, woah, woah! Hold it right there. You have a boyfriend?" asked Josh with his left eyebrow raised.

Growing up, all Josh wanted to do was protect me. I completely understood why, especially since it escalated after our parents died. Unfortunately, for him, I'm not the little girl that needed protecting anymore.

"Josh, don't start treating me like a child." I snapped pulling away from his hug.

"I'm not, it's just... how come I haven't heard about this boyfriend of yours?" He asked looking at the boys.
