Time was still ticking, you arrived at school and sat on your seat, laying your head down on the desk letting your hair fall on your face. 5 minutes remained until the class started. Bell finally rang and I woke up looking around to find your best friend but to your surprise, he wasn't there. You felt it weird as he was never absent for school.
You just shrugged it off thinking he was sick and continued your day. School finally ended. You stretched yourself and lazily got up from your seat and went out. You were walking down the streets where you found a shop having the hoodie which Jake always wanted but he'd always spend on something stupid and forget to buy himself the one he really wanted. You smiled thinking about it and went inside the store and bought the hoodie, it was a bit expensive but it's worth it, right? After that you had some money remaining, you decided to go to a picture store, wanting to frame the picture you both took on a beautiful day which meant a lot to both of you.
You got two of the framed photos and went happily to his house to give him the presents you bought for him. When you reach his house, it was... Strange. It felt empty, a lot emptier than it was. You felt like something was wrong. Panick took over you as you barged inside calling his name till his mother showed up in front of you. She looked... Devastated? Why was she like that? You went up to her,
"Aunty, where's Jake? What happened to you? Why do you look like this?" Your head was filled with all sorts of questions.
Mrs. Sim didn't give me a reply, instead she looked as if she was about to cry. You frowned and backed away from her a bit.
"Don't tell me- it- it can't be!"
You thought, hoping that it wasn't true. "H-He had an a-accident when he w-was c-crossing the r-road-" Mrs. Sim let out as she hid her face with her hands, crying. You were too socked to process anything right now. It felt like your world was slowly started to crumble, bit by bit. You didn't know what to do as you just stood there.
