Small beams of light danced across my face, I turn my body over, tugging my blanket closer, shielding my eyes from the treacherous sun. I feel soft fur curl up atop my head, "Ughh Sol..." I murmured out, picking up the Shinx off of my head and placing him next to me, I could feel soft purring-like sounds come from the flash Pokémon. I feel the two of us slowly drifting into a soft slumber, the rays of the sun giving us warmth.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEE-
I jolt awake, slamming down on the alarm clock, Sol is alert with his ears and tail sticking straight up ready to attack. I pet his head lovingly "It's okay bud," I finally get out of bed stretching upwards before I head into the bathroom, towel in hand. I dry off my hair ruffling it with the towel before moisturizing my face and doing the rest of my skincare. I head back into the room changing to the outfit I laid out the day before. Today was my final day in Unova, all of my things had been boxed and sent over to Johto a couple of days ago, later today I'd be taking a two-hour plane over to Goldenrod City. The word excitement was an understatement, the idea I was going to my dream school didn't even feel real. The plan was to take the train over Castelia city which was about a forty-five-minute ride, eat some lunch, and then head over to the airport at 3 and hopefully arrive at Goldenrod at 6ish.
I grab my bag just a simple shoulder bag with a few pins to decorate it, Sol paws at my leg before I lift him up where he finds his spot resting on my shoulder. And with that, we head off to the train station. I find myself talking to my Shinx much more. He doesn't respond too much, but every single time I say something he likes he gives me a small meowing noise and every single time I say something that annoys him he gives me almost a hissing-like sound. I didn't realize how much I missed a connection like that. Shinx was the only friend I'd made in Unova. I'm quite reserved when it comes to talking to people, I have my interest and I find I get a little competitive when it comes to talking about them, specifically when it comes to Pokemon. I have always loved to study them, they're such interesting creatures I mean even looking at my little Lus. He's a beautiful gold color, and I'd do anything for him. I mean I know people love their Pokemon and all but I love my Shinx, he's just my baby.
I make it to the train station, there's a group of people already there, but I don't mind. I remember that in my bag I packed a pair of headphones to make sure I can block out all the sounds that people make. Sometimes I find when I'm in a very large crowd I can't seem to focus very well, so having a pair of headphones helps me. I put them on, connecting them to my Pokedex. The soft sounds of the music I so dearly love begin to play as I wait for my train to arrive. I find it nice, just being on my own. I'm sure at this point Sol has already fallen asleep from how bored he was. I managed to get on the train pushing through the crowd of people. The forty-five-minute wait wasn't as bad as I thought, it was quite nice. I forgot how nice taking the train was.
Once we made it to Castalia City, we begin walking everywhere. I had been looking up places to eat earlier. I found this very nice, little restaurant and just got some fries and a pizza. Sol was mostly eating the fries... actually, he ate the fries and the pizza. He has an appetite.
After lunch, I decided it was probably best to start heading over to the airport. I didn't have anything I'd have to check it in, at least suitcase-wise. But I just wanted to be sure I got on the right plane. We take the bus over, which isn't too bad. There's a bus specifically made for the airport nearby. Once we make it over I check in my bag as soon as possible. Shinx gets patted down. mostly because he's a little shit, but I still love him. Once we're all checked in and just waiting for the plane to be ready, I get us a little snack. Sure the snacks here are super expensive for no reason whatsoever but this is Shinx's and me's first time getting on a plane, so I might as well just commemorate it with an overpriced bag of chips. I somehow found Shinx's favorite. Strangely he loves barbecue chips and I get something sweet for myself along with something to drink. Nothing too spectacular but the fact that it came out to 2,500 poke-dollars was heinous, but soon enough the plane was here and we start boarding.
I'm a mixture of nervous, excited, sad, and happy. I'm going to miss Unova, but I know I'm going to love Johto. I've spent the last couple of months studying up on the general culture and all of their customs, the kind of food they have and even the kind of people that are there. Johto is so different from Unova, it's mostly country over there and I'm used to the city, even though I'm moving into the largest city in Johto, I was still scared, but I knew I'd be okay.
I board the plane and placed my bag in the overhead bin after I get my laptop and child-size headphones for Sol. I knew he'd be a ruckus if I didn't get him entertained with something so I decided that I download a couple of episodes of some shows that he seemed to enjoy. There was his favorite of course, some wildlife nature show he seemed interested in, I think it's more to judge the Pokemon in them, though I can never tell with his judgy eyes. Once he sees that I'm opening up my laptop his tail is wagging as if he knows I'm going to put on his favorite show and let him munch on his barbecue chips. I place him on my lap, putting my laptop on the little table in front of me. I was planning and hopefully going to be able to take a nap or something but I highly doubt it. This Shinx always finds a way to bother me. I put on his little show and close my eyes for a second.1141 words
